House Rules

Welcome to the Ocean City Department of Tourism website! The purpose of this site is to provide quality, positive recommendations to potential Ocean City visitors. It offers vacationers the opportunity to ask questions about destinations, activities, or anything else under the OC sun.

In order to keep things running smoothly on the site, weive developed the following simple house rules:

1. This is a constructive site. All questions and responses are designed to provide helpful recommendations & insider tips n this is not a place to lodge complaints or address specific issues. If you need help directing your question to the appropriate contact, simply submit your question to the moderator. All posts and comments will be sent to moderation prior to posting, and Ocean City retains the right to remove any and all message posts, for whatever reason, at any time.
2. No bad mouthing n No questions or posts that insult or defame any destinations in Ocean City, or the Ocean City Department of Tourism and its affiliates.
3. Respect other members n No posts that attack, insult, defame, or abuse members or non-members.
4. Keep it PG n No use of explicit, obscene or vulgar language.
5. No discussion of illegal activity or threats of violence (i.e. underage drinking, illicit drug use, or threats of physical harm).
6. No advertising or links to advertising or "Spam" is permitted
   - Advertising or Spam is defined as posting a link for the purpose of selling, soliciting or promoting by someone that has ownership or other "vested interest" to the web site involved, including efforts to promote other online forums or web sites by web site owners.
   - Links to helpful web sites (commercial or otherwise) are allowed when they are posted by someone without any "vested interest" AND whose purpose is NOT to solicit, advertise, promote, fundraise, etc.
7. No posts of copyrighted material n You should not post any information that is copyrighted or owned by someone else, without their consent.
8. Do not post any personal contact information and do not ask for personal information from others n To protect your security and identity, please do not give out personal information like your home address or phone number.
