Ahh! I am so lost. I am trying to plan our honeymoon, and we want a fun filled weekend. I think we want to be more in the action, have a drink and walk to our hotel room. I'm guessing on the boardwalk would be the best? These are the things we really want in a hotel room 1) King size bed (or at least 1 queen). 2) Jaquzzi 3) Partial or all ocean front view 4) Spacious room/suite..Including kitchen Looking to stay 5-7 days...and I can't seem to find anything around $200. Do you know of anything thats meets all of my requirments? Thanks!

You don't say when your wedding will be and that info would be helpful.  Rooms in May and September will be less than June, July and August. And rooms from October to May will be even less.

A good place to start your search would be with these two websites.

www.ococean.com/rodney-saves/accomodations  or www.ocean-city.com  .

I really love the Holiday Inn and Suites on 17th St., but in the summer it will be out of your budget.  Off season, they have wonderful specials that would fit fine.
Honestly, don't limit your search to just the boardwalk. Ocean City is one long strip that is 10 miles long and there are restaurants, bars, amusements, and shopping on almost every block. And there is plenty of parking near the boardwalk for when you want to explore it.
Check out these hotels:
The Spinnaker on 18th
Holiday Inn and Suites on 17th
Dunes Manor on 29th
Rodeway Inn Oceanfront on 30th
Holiday Inn Oceanfront on 68th
Quality Inn Suites on 33rd
Princess Royale Hotel on 91st
Carousel Hotel on 117th
Econo Lodge on 145th

You might also be able to get a "mini-week" condo rental.  The one drawback to a condo for a honeymoon is that unless the condo offers linen rentals, you would have to bring your own. And do you really want to be changing sheets and making beds on your honeymoon?

These realtors offer mini weeks.

First, check out www.ocisfree.com when booking your hotel.  Not only will they provide you with all the available packages, specials and rates for your dates of stay, but you may be eligible for free money savings certificates for local restaurants, shopping, and attractions.

Next, a few hotel suggestions (based on the number of guests, selected rooms that offer plenty of space) based on your location desired.  My family enjoys Holiday Inn Suites, Quality Inn Boardwalk, or Spinnaker Hotel.

Thank you,

Call one of the local vacation rental agencies.  My family's favorite is Coldwell Banker simply because they offer a great selection of rental units.  If you decide to call them ask for Breezy Kammermaier.  We've worked with Breezy for the last 12-13 years and she's always able to find great rental options that meet our family's ever changing needs.

When you call the vacation rental agency, provide a list of desired amenities (ie bedrooms, baths, pool, etc.), location, dates, budget, etc.  The vacation specialist will then provide a list of available units which meet or exceed your needs.

Thank you and have a great vacation!

Is the hilton suites hotel on the boardwalk?

The Hilton is not on the boards, however it is only a short walk to the boardwalk end and you can pick up the tram if visiting during peak season.  It's about 6 blocks and I highly recommend walking it on the beach if you have the time.   It makes the walk seem shorter and you never know what you may find....

I need some help with finding accommodations that are easy enough to get to and close to the boardwalk and family fun stuff to do. We're planning a family reunion for August 3-5, 2012 and the hotel we were going to use just fell through. The ability to have a Sunday brunch onsite is helpful. I would also appreciate any tips you have on finding a local park where we can reserve a baseball field for a few hours in the afternoon.

First, you mentioned close to the boardwalk, so try Holiday Inn Suites or Quality Inn Boardwalk.

However, you do not need to be on the boards to be close to everything.  OC offers a great bus system for travel, and there is so much to see and do all over OC that you never run out of things to do.  So a few other hotel suggestions, Clarion, Carousel, Castle in the Sand, Princess Royale, Princess Bayside, Quality Inn Oceanfront.  All of the mentioned hotels would have breakfast options.

There are several parks throughout OC, so check out www.ococean.com and see which one is closest to your hotel.

One final point, August stays will require a minimum stay and since it is prime vacation time, I would suggest calling whichever hotel you choose as soon as possible so you can obtain the desired number of rooms.

Thank you,

I enjoy Quality Inn Boardwalk on 16th Street and Boardwalk, also Spinnaker on 18th and Boardwalk is nice.

My daughter's favorite is the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites on 17th.  The rooms are large, plenty of space to play, great outdoor pools with a kids area.

With that said, my personal choices would be Holiday Inn Suites, Quality Inn Boardwalk and then Spinnaker just due to the amenities at each hotel.

Thank you,

Do the rates differ on the weeks of August 18 thru the 25 and August 25th thru 31st. Is the latter week cheaper? Or do vacational rentals run the same?

Some hotels and condo owners will offer lower pricing for the later week simply because most schools will be back in for the new year or families will be preparing for the next school year which means family vacations are fewer.  Will it be a huge difference, no, but if your travel plans are open, I would consider postponing to the later week.

Also, my personal suggestion if you are booking a hotel is to utilize www.ocisfree.com as not only will you get good rates and specials, but you may be eligible for free certificates for restaurants, attractions, etc.  These definitely aid in stretching those vacation budgets.

Thank you,

Hello! We are really excited about a beach trip to OC this summer! There will be 6 adults and 4 children and we would love to stay on the boardwalk, ocean front! Are there any condos/houses/apartments that we could reserve from Saturday June 30th-Wednesday, July 4th? Thanks!

Hi. You will have no problem finding just what you're looking for, but you best book soon. Fourth of July week and the week leading up to it are some of the most popular weeks, and go fast.
The boardwalk is 2.5 miles long and the rides and arcades are located at the most southern end of the boardwalk by the inlet. But anywhere on the boardwalk is easily accesible to the rides by just jumping on the boardwalk tram that runs both ways up and down the boards, 7 days a week in the summer.
I suggest you check these realtors to find something you like:

For that many people, I recommend a condo. There are many 3+ bedroom condos that are on the Boardwalk. Darlene gave some local realtors to call. You can also try www.vrbo.com and www.frbo.com to rent from owners. Oceanfron condos on the Boardwalk will be below 24th Street.
