Location in Ocean City is no issue because of most places being walking distance,or a short bus ride away. But you did say boardwalk hotel and I would recommend Park Place, Tidelands or the Comfort Inn as all 3 are on the boards and just a short walk away from the main part of the boardwalk. A few others that maybe are a longer walk but nice boardwalk hotels are Sahara, Commander and the Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn gets the most praise but also is the most expensive. Hotels I would stay away from (because of kids) are Plim Plaza and the Rideau Inn.

The Plim Plaza is a good economical choice. You may also enjoy the Francis Scott Motel in West Ocean because it has an amazing waterpark on the premises.

I would suggest staying between 15th and 30th St..  The boardwalk runs from the inlet to 27th St. The rides, etc. are located on the inlet or most southern end. But no matter where you stay on the boardwalk you can walk, bike, or hop on the boardwalk tram to get you there.  The reason I'm suggesting you stay further north is that you would also be within walking distance to Jolly Roger Amusement Park on 30th St.  In addition to rides, they also have a water park, zip line, and go karts for the whole family. There are plenty of restaurants around as well.
Some great places to stay are the Courtyard by Marriott on 15th, The Holiday Inn and Suites on 18th, The Grand Hotel on 21st.,  the Dunes Motel on 27th St., the Dunes Manor on 29th, or the Spinnaker on 18th St.  The Dunes Motel does not have a restaurant inside, but there are definitely enough places within walking distance.
Hope that gives you a start.

I would suggest staying around 1st through 15th street. All of the hotels on the boardwalk are great, most of them have restaurants plus there are tons of places to eat along the boardwalk.

I would suggest The Commander, Tidelands Caribbean, Beach Plaza Hotel, or Plim Plaza Hotel. Those are all great places to stay!

First, check out www.ocisfree.com when booking your hotel.  Not only will they provide you with all the available packages, specials and rates for your dates of stay, but you may be eligible for free money savings certificates for local restaurants, shopping, and attractions.

Next, a few hotel suggestions (based on the number of guests, selected rooms that offer plenty of space) based on your location desired.  My family enjoys Holiday Inn Suites, Quality Inn Boardwalk, or Spinnaker Hotel.

Thank you,
Anna G.
