My 5 friends and I are staying in OC for the summer, arriving on May 29th. Can you recommend where to look for summer housing? we are looking for something below 15th street, that is not too expensive and are willing to share with other students!! Thanks

It is late in the season to be looking, but your best bet is to look in the classifieds in the local papers. I'd suggest checking out the classified sections of The Maryland Coast Dispatch and Ocean City Today.

You can also checkout this list of seasonal housing from the OC Chamber of Commerce.

Good luck on the search!

I Need a family friendly hotel on beach close to boardwalk. Do you have any suggestions?

There are lots of great family friendly places near the boardwalk. Here is a mix of places so you can pick one that meets your needs and budget. They are all fine places. They are listed from the south end of town headed north.

Courtyard by Marriott at 15th Street is ocean front on the boardwalk. New property built about 3 years ago with lots of amenities including ocean front and ocean view rooms with small balconies and an indoor pool. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sbyoc-courtyard-ocean-city-oceanfront/.

Holiday Inn Suites at 17th Street is right on the boardwalk. Many rooms are ocean front with balconies. The hotel has lots of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools. http://www.ocsuites.com/

Dunes Motel is at 27th Street, right at the north end of the boardwalk right at the tram station. It is an ocean front hotel with many ocean front rooms with balconies. It is a great, affordable ocean front motel. It also has rooms with balconies that face the bay. They have an outdoor pool. http://www.ocdunes.com/

Dunes Manor is a couple of blocks north of the boardwalk at 28th street, all rooms are ocean front with balconies. This is one of my favorite properties in OC, and the place I always recommend. My family stays there often. Their rooms have small kitchen areas, but are more like traditional hotel rooms than suites. They have adjoining rooms. They have an indoor/outdoor pool that is open year round.  http://www.dunesmanor.com/

Some great places that are ocean block are listed below. These places will be more affordable than the ocean front ones listed above.

The Spinnaker is right off the boardwalk at 18th Street (ocean block). It is a great property, and being ocean block it  will be bit more affordable. All rooms have balconies with a view of the beach and ocean. They have an outdoor pool. http://www.ocmotels.com/spinnaker/

Sahara
, 19th Street on the boardwalk with ocean block buildings too. A basic motel that will be clean, but will not have lots of amenities. Outdoor pool. http://www.saharamotel.com/

The Flamingo
is just north of the boardwalk at 31st Street. It is ocean block with 3 buildings and an indoor pool so it will be more affordable than the ocean front places. They have indoor and outdoor pools.  http://www.theflamingomotel.com/

Have fun in OC!

I just got hired by the Telescope Pictures (scopes) in OC, Md. Do you know anything about their housing and also I had to work 3 weekends before they decided to hire me. Should I get paid for that?

For camping, I suggest checking Castaways http://castawaysrvoc.com/ , Frontiertown http://www.frontiertown.com/frontier-town/  or Fort Whalley Campground  http://www.frontiertown.com/fort-whaley/

As for houses, they are few in OC.  You'll mostly find condos and townhouses.  These excellent realtors can give you your best options:

Myself, my fiance and our 2 children are planning on coming up the end of June for one day/night. We would like to stay longer but it is a spur of the moment trip before we go to PA to visit family. We are wanting a hotel that is on the boardwalk since we are only going to have one day of fun but that is right in the middle of the season and all the hotels on the boardwalk are either booked already or way out of my price range. Does anyone know of a good hotel on the boardwalk that won't cost anymore the $150 a night? Thanks for any help anyone can give me! :)

The Beach Plaza has a special for June $147/night for oceanfront and on the boardwalk.  It is the perfect place for one night!  If you check in early, they do have complimentary showers and bathroom facilities, parking, etc for you to use so you can enjoy the beach all day.  It's like getting 2 beach days in one!

Castle in the Sand is a very good choice.  You might also like the Carousel Hotel (indoor ice skating rink), the Princess Royale, or the Holiday Inn Oceanfront on 67th St.
The Holiday Inn and Suites on 17th St. is wonderful and they have a separate kiddie pool, and is right on the boardwalk.  Here's a picture of their children's pool:

I'm looking for a 1BR w/den or 2BR for 3 adults and 3 children for the week starting August 18; preferably facing ocean front.

An oceanfront condo would be a great choice.  One of my favorites is the Carousel Resort Hotel and Condo's http://www.carouselhotel.com/ All of the amenities of a hotel, indoor pool, fitness center, playground, indoor ice skating rink with free nightly ice show, onsite bar and restaurants and lots more!

If you prefer a smaller building I suggest you check Long and Foster Rental Realty www.lfvacations.com  Great website!  It gives you the ability to search by location, amenities, # of bedrooms, etc.

Does anyone know about the Sea Scape apartments? I've read some poor reviews mostly from a year ago or more. I don't expect the Taj Mahal but we'll have three children and don't want anything hazardous. Do you have to cross any streets?

The Seascape looks fine from the outside, but I have not been inside. It is Oceanfront with some ocean block units, but you should not have to cross any busy streets when staying there.

Last year I stayed in a hotel I liked, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I was around 2nd or 3rd street maybe, or Division St. It has a pool on the roof and a Subway sandwich shop attached. Can anybody tell me the name of it?? Also, might as well throw it out there that I'm looking for something decent on beach block for 3 adults and 3 kids in August. Any suggestions would be great!!!

Its Hotel Monte Carlo, I've stayed there many times. Monte Carlo is a nice hotel, clean, comfy and a great location without paying oceanfront rates.

For 3 adults and 3 kids did you consider a condo? Try www.cbvacations.com, a great search engine for Coldwell Banker for a condo rental.
