Every year a small group of friends tries to have a mini-vacation to Ocean City. We've enjoyed many times going to Seacrets over the years. Last year; we all seemed to tire of Hoopers Restaurant. They didn't seem to have anything decent for adult or kid food. We had a 1yr old with us. We also thought that Seacrets last year seemed very subdued - like no one was there. Did the summer end before we got to OC? This year we plan to be down Sept 11-15th. Some of us still are into the Seacrets thing; but we also have some who feel like they would be happier in a bar enjoying wine watching other people. And we also have a 2 yr old coming with us.
We are looking for the following:
* a bar-type atmosphere that would possibly appeal to both sets of "into-Seacrets" and "over-Seacrets"?
* family-oriented restaurant with quality food and good prices.
* good family-oriented breakfast places.
* any known activities around this time? We know bike week is coming after us - but not sure if anything is happening when we are down.
Hi Cynthia,
All of the above places are great. One place that is our favorite and wasn't mentioned is BJ's on the Water on 75th St. They have a bar and live entertainment, indoor and outdoor dining plus they feed the ducks and geese daily at 1 p.m. and it's on the bay.Â

Or try the Marina Deck. They have a "kiddie room" on site with blocks, games, video games, toys and more. And they have on site babysitting from 5-9 so you can feed the baby at home, then let him enjoy the playroom while the grown ups enjoy a nice peaceful dinner. It's located on the bay at 306 Dorchester St.
As for breakfast it would be hard to beat the breakfast buffet at the Clarion Hotel on 101st St. They have everything you could possibly want for breakfast including made to order omelets. And since it is oceanfront, you have the most beautiful views while eating breakfast. They also have menu items available in case you aren't into the buffet.

Harborside Grill is a great option too...for something deliciously different on a hot day, try out their Orange Crush. Although the restaurant does not have a play area, it is near a dock to provide some different sights for your two year old to see. We just went there with my four year old, five month old, and my one year old nephew and all of us had a great time!
For breakfast: If you want to try something different, give the Bayside Skillet a try. They have crepes and omlettes of any type imaginable! Also if you are there on a Sunday, the Clarion brunch is a great bet also.
