Here is a great oyster stew recipe if you cannot find what you want in Ocean City:
2 cups peeled, diced all-purpose potatoes
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
1 cup finely chopped onions
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
Pinch nutmeg
½ teaspoon dried garlic
1 pint shucked oysters, drained, liquid reserved
2 cups heavy or whipping cream
1 cup milk
Place potatoes in small saucepan with water to cover; bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer until tender, 10 minutes. Drain.
Combine butter, onions and thyme in large saucepan and cook, covered, over low heat 15 minutes. Increase heat to medium; add reserved oyster liquid and cook 10 minutes more.
Reduce heat to low. Add oysters, milk, garlic, nutmeg, cream and cooked potatoes to a pot. Heat through just until oysters ruffle at edges, about 9 minutes over low heat.
I checked with 94th St. Liquid Assest and they do serve Oyster Stew as a special. Your best bet is to give them a call or drop an e-mail a few days before you get into town and let them know you want a stew. www.la94.com Enjoy!
