We are interested in live entertainment. Does OC offer any R&B live bands? We also like comedy shows, so if I can't find a night spot that caters to the 30+ age group, then comedy is next for us.

We're bringing our 2 basset hounds over Easter weekend and I know i can take them on the boardwalk and beach, but are there any restaurants we can take them that have outside eating areas?

I think it will depend on the weather. I was there this past weekend, and none of the outside restaurants were open yet and it was nice weather. But since it's Easter weekend, there may be some open. Although I have to admit, I don't know if you're allowed to bring dogs even to an outside restaurant. Maybe one of my fellow Insiders can offer more info.
Let me start by saying, Hey ya'll! There's not too many of us downy ocean hon!
First...tune your radio to 99.9 Froggy...I keep this programmed for when I am in town...it is the best country station I found in the Delmarva area.
The only bars I have found that suit my country - (non rap/loud dance music) taste while at the beach is the Cork Bar on Wicomic St & the Boarwalk...usually on the more pop/county side..... and I ALWAYS have a good time at the Brass Balls Saloon (upstairs) 1105 N. Boardwalk (11th St)
There are so many buffets in OC. You won't have any problem at all.
Ember's on 23rd St. (crab legs) Bonfire on 70th St. (crab legs) Phillips on 21st and 141st Sts (whole crab) Horizons inside the Clarion Hotel on 101st St. (crab legs) Halls on 59th St. Waterman's in West Ocean City on Rte.50 (whole crabs.........they dump the crabs onto your table!)
Some that offer gluten free dining are: Mother's Cantina 2810 Coastal Highway Fager's Island on 60th St. Shenanigan's Irish Pub on 4th St/boardwalk The Shark on the Harbor in West Ocean City Satellite Coffee Shop on 46th St Layton's on 92nd St. The Angler Adolfo's on 13th St. at the Beach Plaza Hotel on the boardwalk There are most likely more since this is becoming more common. But that should give you a good start.
There was a great restaurant in the 45th Street Village around 1986. They did a great cesaer salad at tableside. I cannot remember the name of the restaurant! Do you remember the name? Thanks so much!

When will most of the restaurants open for the 2012 season? Last year we went about a week too early and most of the places were closed except on weekends.

A lot depends on the weather, but we visit throughout the year and never have major issues finding somewhere to eat; however I would say Springfest weekend (May 5)will be the season start for many businesses.
We have been to OC, but it has been some time. One of the fun places to eat was Big Peckers. I can't seem to find a listing for it, is it still in business?
