They are indeed! Although not during the summer months, but as of Oct. 1st - and all the way through April 30th - your four legged friends are more than welcome on the beach and boardwalk.
Please keep in mind though that the town ordinance states that - owner of a dog must remove any waste deposited on public or private property not owned by the handler or owner in possession of said dog. Also, dogs must be kept on a leash when being walked in and around Ocean City. During peak-season and year-round, a Dog Playground is available at 94th Street and bayside so your pet can let loose and enjoy their time in Ocean City. Late September. the weekends will be busy. The Wine Festival is the last weekend in September at the Inlet. You can purchase tickets at http://www.winefest.com/index-beach.html . You can sample various wines, enjoy cheese and breads, listen to live music and explore the craft vendors. It's a very nice event.
During the week, no rides or games will be open, but the Life Saving Station Museum, Marty's Playland, Thrasher's Fries, Fisher's Popcorn, and lots of small shops will still be open. Places like the Purple Moose and Shenanigan's will also still be open.
You can rent bicycles or Segway's at Boardwalk Segway in the Somerset Plaza and ride the boards. There are still mini golf places open including two indoor ones at 68th and 136th Streets. Play laser tag at Planet Maze or ice skate at the Carousel Hotel.
Explore the area outside of OC and visit Assateague and see the wild ponies, or visit nearby Berlin and tour the town and spend some time at the Casino and race track.
Have a great time.

I would suggest what Darlene suggested and go to Neigbor Care Medical Supply in Salisbury. I had a friend who brought her grandmother on oxygen and said that they were very helpful there when it came to medical supplies.
Yes the boardwalk is open in October Kyle. It usually has something going on during the day. the best spots are the parks to see the leaves change colors which is really cool and just about anywhere around OC is awesome. The best hotels my personal favorite it the cayman suites on 125th street, they usually have a good sale. or i think you would like the best western on 59th, the clarion on 101st, princess royale on 91st, princess bayside on 48th, etc. for more information visit www.ococean.com
Hi Daniel, Ocean City was founded on July 4, 1875. the town has become a lot over the last several decades. but you should come down to ocean city and visit the life saving museum which tells about the history of ocean city.
Hi Michele, Sorry the trams will not be running that day however there is the ocean city bus which is $3 per person per boarding. hold onto the wristbands which is good for 24 hours. the buses are handicapped accessible so your mother should not have a problem riding on them. there is planet maze on 33rd street with an indoor play area for the kids. you should check that out.

We have seen these as well all summer from 136th Street. I can tell you they are not permanent. They were not there this past winter. They moved then came back. Based on what I was told these are associated with the beach replenishment in Delaware. They are well lit at night!
hello! yes mini golf courses are open there are two old pro golf locations on 67th and 136th that are indoor and open all year long. they are all great courses but my favorite is the course at old pro on 23rd street which is really cool.

Hi Janet, the tram will only run on sunfest weekend which is coming up this coming weekend 9/18-21. and then the only time the tram will run is at northside park for the winterfest of lights. Next year in May 2015 Memorial day weekend the tram will start to make it's way back to the boardwalk and then it runs full time around the end of June. There is the bus that runs 24 hours a day in ocean city for $3 per boarding. Hold on to the wristbands when you board and then the next day you need to buy another pass. For more information visit www.ococean.com and click on getting around OC. Some of the must visit shops on the boardwalk is the Courtsey shop over on Caroline street. that's one of my favorites.
