We will be vacationing in OC Sept. 6-14. I've never been to the east coast and am thrilled for this opportunity! The 10 day forecast calls for high 70s and mid 80s. Will these temps be closer to the colder northern CA conditions or the warmer southern CA conditions? Sorry to ask for a comparison but those are the only beach experiences I have to compare to in the US. Thank you!

Well, I've never been to California so I can't say I've experienced what you are talking about.  Ocean City temps are hard to describe.  It can be 80 in OC, but when you get right on the beach it might be closer to 75 or lower depending on if the wind is coming across the ocean with cooler air.  If the wind is coming from the west, the beach air will be warmer. While you may want to put a cover up on while you're on the beach, you'll quickly be taking it off once you get off the beach.

Plan on bringing a light jacket for evenings and a t shirt or cover up for the beach.  And trust me, the weatherman may be calling for rain and it could be sunny all day. They never seem to get it exactly right at the beach. Just come and enjoy wonderful Ocean City!

hi arun, the crowds are usually dying down this time of year during the week. a lot of people have gone home for the summer or went back to school. you should be able to find it very nice and relaxing for yourself on those days. enjoy and have a great time in OC!

We are visiting the week of Sunfest and wondering if amusement rides will be open. My son is 30 but autistic and loves the rides.

Hi Kathi, I would say the quietest part of the town is more up toward the northern part of the city. it seems to be more quiet, less crowded most of the time. I would check out the Cayman Suites on 125th street adjacent to Northside Park which is a nice play to stay. I stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. I found it to be pretty quiet. But check it out for yourself.

Hi Veronica, the boardwalk never closes. it is open all year long. most of the time a lot of shops close down for the year around october but some stay open with limited hours all year long. it all depends on what you are looking for. i hope you enjoy the boardwalk no matter what time of year you visit the boards in OC!!!!

The bus runs from 144th Street at the north end of town (2 blocks from Delaware) to South Division Street at the south end (2 blocks from the inlet). For reference, the North OC Bus station, shown below, is immediately north of the Sun & Surf Cinema. You can get more info on OC buses here.

Hi Sheila,

You will find basically everything open after Labor Day especially for the month of September.  The exceptions may be limited ride days/hours on the pier and at Trimpers.  September after Labor Day is a great time to be at the beach.

Hi Insiders, Do you know if you can still do the memorial brick? I wanted to do one for my mom who passed away in June. Thank you.
