Are dogs allowed for September visit?

One more thing to add here.  As stated above the dogs are not allowed on the boards or the beach at that time.  However they are allowed on the Federal part of Assateague Island.  It's just a short drive away to allow you and your pet a stroll, a romp and a playtime on the beach!

Joseph,
You can walk them at Northside Park though, on a leash, all year.  It is a great place for dogs.  Lots of places to sniff and to see other dogs.

Joseph,

As others mentioned, dogs are not permitted on the beach or boardwalk prior to October 1st.  However, with that said, there are plenty of things for your dog, a dog playground, walks on Coastal Highway, etc.

Ocean City loves it's 4-legged friends - so feel free to bring your dog.  One note, please ensure your hotel/condo accepts pets because there are several that do not permit.

Have a great time in September - nice weather, less vacationers, and still lots to do.

Hello Joseph,

Dogs are only allowed on the beach between October 1st and April 3oth.

There is a fee based dog park on 94th St bayside that is popular with both the tourists and locals.  Their # is 410-250-0125.

If your dog wants some beach time, you can take him/her down to the federal side of Assateague Island.

There is a Dog Playground at 94th Street and bayside run by the Recreation & Parks department. There is a small fee for this park and you need some paperwork to prove the dog's vaccinations and similar are up to date. You can get more info at 410-250-0125 or http://oceancitymd.gov/Recreation_and_Parks/dogplayground.html.
