What is the average number of tourists in a summer season?

Jessica,

According to the Baltimore Sun, the number of tourists on any summer weekend can exceed 300,000!  So, that's a very high total number of tourists during a summer season.

Thank you,
Anna G.

As Savas mentioned, the busy times of the season are super busy.  A word of advice:

When eating dinner out, it is best to arrive before 6pm to the area restaurants to get seated quickly.  The earlier you arrive the quicker you will be seated.  Many restaurants offer early bird specials that give discounts (sometimes a coupon is needed) when seated for dinner between 4:30-5:30pm.

If staying at a northen OC hotel and travelling to the boardwalk, leave by 5pm to make great time, otherwise, it may seem like a parking lot the later you wait to leave.

Smart planning during the busy times will save you many headaches and give you more time to enjoy the benefits of Ocean City rather than getting to know the inside of your car better!

Savas you are absolutely correct it is.  Also usually after Labor Day weekend the town announces the summer visitor numbers. I'm always amazed at just how many people are here for the summer months.

Jessica,
The biggest weekends in the summer at Memorial Day, Labor Day, the 4th of July, and the first three weeks in August.  If memory serves me, Ocean City is the 3rd largest city in MD in the summer.

Jessica,

Karl is dead on.... Now, I just round the numbers up and down.... 7000 permanent residents, approximately 350,000 per weekend during peak season (June, July August).... etc.  Like Darlene said, it almost seems like we're better suited to know it's a lot!!!!  Hope you have a great time.
