The way our schedule is for 2011 we may need to take our yearly vacation to Ocean City Maryland on either Labor Day week or even later in September, but we were a little nervous to do that because were didn't know when most of the shops and amusement parks close in Ocean City on the Boardwalk and on Coastal Highway? When do places usually close for the season?

I love Labor Day week. Some things do close, but not a lot. The outdoor rides do close during the week. The water is still very warm and so is the sun and sand. Of course, the later into September you go, things cool down. But there is something going on almost every weekend throughout September. http://ococean.com/events

In my opinion, it is the best weather for the entire year. The water is its warmest in late September.

There are fewer and fewer businesses, stores and restaurants that "close for the season" now. You'll find that most do go to a weekends only schedule, and there are the handful of stores and restaurants that do close for the season..... but not many anylonger. The amusement parks do close outside rides for the season in and around the this time of year... usually after Sunfest... it depends on the weather. Other than that, you'll find that September in Ocean City is a perfect time to visit.
