I'm currently attempting to sell my house and move to the OC area. My question is about property taxes. I keep getting told to move to DE for the savings but is there a huge difference if I wanted to move to OC or Ocean Pines? I figure if I'm going to move to the beach, I want to do it right and not end up too far inland. Can someone tell me the differences between moving to MD or DE. I know DE has no sales tax but what else is different between the states?

Over all, I believe financially it will cost the same to live in either place.  What you save in taxes in DE you end up paying more for other services.  If you want to do it right, OC is your best bet.  You will be much closer to the beach and you will also have more public ammenities.

If you live in OC, DE is not too far of a drive to go shopping sales tax free!  There is a huge outlet mall not too far from OC.
