Will everything be opened the week before Memorial Day? Or will we run into a lot of the restaurants/shops/rides not open?
Yes everything is opened now. All the restaurants are open and the shops are open now. The rides are open on weekends now but will be everyday soon. Most shops on the boardwalk open even in the winter weather permitting. Ocean City, MD is now a year round family resort. Next week almost everything will be open. Next weekend is Cruise Weekend so the town will be full of great cars and great people. The inlet parking lot will be closed because of all the cruisers showing their cars there, but there is still plenty of parking in the area. I've been down there for about the last 8 years on this weekend, and I can't think of anything that is has not opened for the season except maybe some of the tour boats.
Almost all of businesses stay open everyday from Cruise Weekend, often earlier, until at least Labor Day, and often until Sunfest or later in the year!
It's a great time to go to OC. I'm headed there myself later this week and can't wait to be on the way!

We just got back from Ocean City yesterday and everything except Jolly Rodgers and the waterparks were open. Ocean City is in full swing!

YOu are in luck! Everything will pretty much be open. This will be the first fully scheduled week for a lot of places. Have fun! There will be lots to see and do.
