Oct. is a great time to come to OC...the water is still warm enough to swim in and the beach warm enough to sit out and read a book, but not so warm you are looking for AC after an hour of being on the beach.  Most thingsare still open, though on a shortened schedule.  Things such as water sports, outdoor pools, and amusement rides have shut down for the season.

You will find about 80% of the stores open at that time.  The weather is usually fantastic that time of year - highs in the low 80 and warm water temps.  The water actually peaks in temperature the last week in September.

The weather in October can be great. It is usually in the 70s so you can easily have a great walk on the beach or boardwalk with long sleeves or a light jacket. My kids have even swum in the ocean Columbus Day weekend.

You can always see all OC's major events for the whole year at http://ococean.com/events

Most restaurants are still open as are many of the boardwalk shops. On weekends almost all of them will be open. Most entertainment attractions except the major amusement parks, tour boats, and water parks are open. You can golf, mini golf, laser tag, visit arcades, go cart, or visit the Ocean Casino and play the slots.

There is plenty to do in OC in October, especially on weekends. There are also plenty of great events in October:

Sept 30-1 Oct is Winefest. I've been several times and it is a great event and is a lot of fun. ot to their website fr a discount coupon.

Oct 1 is Harbor Days (free!). I was there last year and it has great crafts and entertainment for kids and adults.

Oct 2 - 16 is Fall Restaurant Week

Oct 6 -9 is Endless Summer Cruisin A great event that I have been to many times. The cars are great fun to see.

Oct 14 - 15 is Oktoberfest

Have a great trip!
