Is there anything open on the boardwalk right now, we are coming March 2, 2012.
There are some shops and restaurants open, especially on the weekends. If the weather is good, you'll find Thrashers French Fries and Fisher's Popcorn open as well, and the arcade and Trimper's indoor rides for the little ones. And the Life Saving Station Museum should be open as well.
Off the boardwalk, you'll find two indoor mini golf courses open on 68th St. and 136th St., Planet Maze is open for laser tag, ice skating at the Carousel Hotel (skates are available to rent), movies, shopping at the Ocean City Outlets, take a drive to Assateague and see the ponies. There's always stuff to do in Ocean City year round.

Many Boardwalk stores are open on the weekend if the weather is nice. We have had Thrashers fried, Dollies caramel corn, a Polock Johnnies hot dog and a Loves funnel cake in February and March.

it truly depends on the weather...there are some stores and restaurants that remain open on the weekends regardless. take your chance...you may discover an unknown place because there are fewer choices!

Things are still pretty quiet in OC in early March. During the week very few shops are open. On weekends, especially if it
is sunny, some of the shops will be open. It is impossible to name the
specific shops that will be open as most shops don't have fixed
schedules in the deep off season. However, most weekends in the winter
Marty's Playland, Thrashers, Dough Roller, Kite Loft, Ocean Gallery,
Ripley's, a few Jewelery Stores, and some T-shirt shops seem to be open
along the boardwalk.
Lots
of restaurants are open year round including most restaurants in large
hotels. Here is a list of a few, and I have eaten at most of them in the
winter time, but I'd still call
ahead to double check that they are open:

If you are looking for things to do here are a few ideas that are generally good year round, especially on weekends:
Miniature golf (great indoor courses at 68th and 136th Streets) and lots of great outdoor courses all over town
Bowling at Ocean Lanes at 72nd street (call ahead to check for lane availability 410.524.7550) note: cash only
Go to the movies.
Walk on the boardwalk, rent bikes, and visit to Marty's Playland (our favorite arcade.)
Planet Maze
(33rd Street) is also open and has an arcade and fun
laser tag games.
Sometimes on nice days, especially on weekends, Baja Amusements
in West OC may be running some go cart tracks.
In the off season I recommend people with kids
stay at a place with an indoor pool as that can also provide some great
fun for kids who probably haven't been able to swim since September.

Lots! We visit OC throughout the year and have never really run into a time when we (including kids) were bored or had nothing to do.
If the weather is nice, enjoy the boards - no crowds! Don't miss Fisher's, Thrasher's, Atlantic Stand, arcades, shops, Candy Kitchen, and of course the beach!
If the weather is not cooperating, why not try mini golf or laser tag or the indoor pool at your hotel (definitely worth checking into a hotel with one if you have kids!).
There are tons of restaurants to choose from in the off season and they normally have great specials. Seacrets, LaHacienda, Greene Turtle, Buxy's, Tony's, and so many more.
Basically, relax and have a great time!
