My family and I will be coming to OC for our vacation 5/28-6/1. I was wondering what would be open on the board walk. As far as the rides, are they not open until the weekend? How about the games to win stuffed animals and such? We have a 3 year old little girl so fun activities are always important :) Any other suggestions are very helpful. We love coming to OC and counting down the days till vaca!!

Your little girl would probably also like a trip over to Assateague to look at the ponies. WHile there you can stop in the Visitors Center. There will be lots to look at there for the entire family.

For younger children, I recommend the Viking Waterpark in Fenwick Island, Delaware.  The Salisbury Zoo is also a great option.

When my daughter was three, her favorite thing to do was to just play on the beach.  The indoor pool was also a huge hit on rainy days too.  But if you are looking to get out and about, Trimper's Rides has some great options, including a carousel added in 1912.  As for games, there is always fishing for plastic fish and picking ducks out on the pier in the Jolly Roger amusement park.

Something else she may find neat...the Lifesaving Museum.  There are fish tanks set up throughout and displays of shark teeth and marine life.

EVERYTHING will be open for business then.  That's Memorial Day and everything is officially open for business including amusement parks and water sports. Don't forget, there are indoor rides on the boardwalk that are especially for children your little girl's age. She can be a pirate on the Duckaneer pirate ship at the Talbot St. Pier.  Or take her to Assateague to see the wild ponies that live there.  And I always tell parents with small children to buy one of those small inflatable pools and put it beside your chairs on the beach. Add a few buckets of ocean water and your little one can jump in and out without worrying about the "big" water and waves.  The water warms very quickly in the small pools and will probably be warmer than the ocean water that time of year.  Have a great time!
