The Inlet parking lot, officially known as the Hugh T. Cropper Parking lot has 1,200 parking spaces. It costs in the summer are:

Weekday and Weekend = $2.50 per hour

0 - 30 minutes              Free

31 - 40 minutes            $1.50

41 - 50 minutes            $2.00

51 minutes - 1 hour       $2.50

Additional Time            $.50 per 12 minutes

It will fill up during the day on busy summer days, especially weekends, but there are several other lots in the area.

You can get information on all of OC's public parking here: http://ococean.com/travel-tools/parking-information

There are no public changing areas or private bath houses where you can change and take a private shower in Ocean City. You are not allowed to change clothes in the public restrooms. There are public rinse off showers to wash sand and salt water off yourself at the Inlet beach, Caroline Street, and 9th Street. These showers are on the west edge of the beach.

Hi, my wife and I will be driving to OC for the 1st time. Coming in we are coming from Baltimore (downtown hilton at camden yards). Going home we will be leaving OC and going straight to NYC. Anyway, what is the best route to get to OC from Baltimore and which bridge should we take? Can you only enter OC via a bridge? We are staying at the Spinnaker motel and will be leaving the Baltimore hotel on Tuesday, July 19th. Any advice on the best route to OC and which bridge to take would be appreciated. Also we'll be checking out of the hotel at 11. Do you think we'll be hitting a lot of traffic approaching OC at that day/time? Thank you.

Leaving Baltimore, get onto I-95 south towards Washington.  Pass the Baltimore Beltway and take route 100 east.  Then take I-97 south and it will end at Route 50.  Take Route 50 East across the Bay Bridge all the way into Ocean City.  Turn left at the first availble left hand turn once in Ocean City and go up to 18th St.  The biggest bridge you will cross is the Bay Bridge.  The bridge directly into Ocean City is very small.  If you need to avoid the bay Bridge, the only alternative is to go north on I-95 and than travel south through Delaware.  This is the long way into Ocean City.   Leaving at 11:00 on a Tuesday is a great time to leave for the beach.  It should take you 2.5 - 3 hours to arrive.

We are spending our family vacation at Ocean City the 2nd week of August. Is it typically very crowded during this time? And can you tell me what the average water temps are in August. We usually vacation in NC/SC where the water is very warm. Is it about the same in Ocean City?

My family and I always vacation during the second week of August.  It is still very hot then!  I think the crowds might be somewhat smaller as some schools in the area return the following week. The ocean is warm and will get warmer until the middle of September.  The only thing I have noticed is there is more hurricane activity at this time then the early summer. You will be in OC for a great fishing event:

Even if you don't participate, the weigh-in parties are open to the public and lots of fun! We go each summer!

October is great in OC.  We were down a few years ago over the Columbus day weekend and on October 11 it was 83 degrees!  The ocean was calm and WARM!   While that is not typical, you can expect bright, sunny, blue skies during the day and cool evenings.   Most restaurants will be open weekends and offer specials for lunch dinner and Happy Hour.  Most shops are open as well and you will fine good clearance bargains!
You will be there for Harbor Day on the commercial fishing pier, and the last day of Winefest!  A great weekend in OC.

My fiance and I are wanting to get married May 19,2012 and we was thinking on the beach, how much would it cost to have a small wedding down there, at sunset (in the evening) and where could we have a reception that wont cost to much? I am very interested in having my wedding on the beach.

Contact one of the hotels that specialize in wedding planning; I suggest Princess Bayside or Clarion.  Both have great staff that will be able to answer all your questions and provide great information and suggestions to make your wedding special and momentous.

Thank you,

Seafood is abundant at all restaurants.  The Crab Bag and Crabcake Factory have outstanding crabcakes.

We are staying about 3 blocks from the boardwalk and will be walking to the shore daily. I have a 5 yr old and a 20 month old. I need to use the stroller for them...there's no way they can walk back and forth each day, several times a day. Someone told me there are "stroller parking" areas that are similar to coat check areas at social events. Is this true? Will I be able to use the stroller to the boardwalk then "check" it in a secure place for the day then pick it up whenever I need it?

Short answer is no.  You can bring a lock/chain and chain it to the fence by the beach or just drag it with you on the beach.  We see people do this all the time.  We stay in North Ocean City and never had our stroller moved or taken and we just left it by the sand fence or brought it with us on the beach.
