Hi, my family and I will be staying at the Bahia Vista May 19th thru the 22nd. Since our condo is right along the bay and we have access to a dock directly behind the unit we rented, my question is, will we be able to do any fishing in the bay, and if so, do we need special licenses and what are the rules? Thank you for your help!

I've been to OC at all times of the year. The water will still be on the cool side at the end of May, but I've seen people swimming in it. As for walking on the beach; I personally don't think it's ever too cold to walk along the sand! If it's a little chilly, bring a jacket.

I found a website that advertises two flea markets, the one dosn't specify exactly where it is but the contact # is 410-835-3687 and ask for Dot or Jim Robinson

The other one I found is on 71st street daily during the summer. For more info call Betty @ 410-213-0046 or Janice 410-213-0258

Hope this helps, I'm not sure if this site I found is up to date.

Where is the best place for a 10 year old boy to find a pick up basketball game in Ocean City? Does North Side Park have any basketball nets you can use or do you have to reserve one for team play.

The playground on Philadephia ave between 2nd and 3rd st has courts and at times you see pick up games being played. I would try there. Have Fun.

My family and I have never been to O.C. before we would like to know where the best spot would be to stay. My children age between the ages of 6-8. We are big beach people and love rides.

Hi,
My suggestion would be to stay anywhere from the inlet to around 10th or 12th St. on the boardwalk.  Ocean City is basically one 10 mile long strip divided by a highway with the inlet on the southernmost end, the ocean on the eastern side and the bay on the western side.  The northern end of Ocean City leads into Delaware.  The boardwalk runs from the inlet to 27th St.  After that, it's all beach.  However the rides and activities on the boardwalk are all located on the inlet end.   However, if you don't want to be right in the thick of it, you can actually stay anywhere on the boardwalk and ride the tram that runs up and down for a small fee each way.  A couple of places to consider are the Tidelands Carribbean on 5th St, the Hotel Monte Carlo on 3rd St. (just recently updated and one block back from the boards), the Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel on 13th St, and the Paradise Plaza Hotel on 9th St. Those are all located in the lower end.  A little further up you can try the Courtyard by Marriott on 15th St., the Commander Hotel on 14th St, the Grand Hotel on 21st, or the Holiday Inn Suites on 18th .   One more option (one that I think would suit the best) would be to stay just off the end of the boardwalk at the Dunes Motel on 27th St., the Dunes Manor on 28th St., or the Rodeway Oceanfront on 31st St. All three are oceanfront and at the end of the boardwalk next to the tram station so you wouldn 't need to move your car to get to the rides. Plus the noise level and foot traffic is less here.Plus you can walk to Jolly Roger Amusements and Water Park on 29th St for different rides than just the boardwalk. www.jollyrogerpark.com  Your best bet for savings would be to buy the Passport to Fun ahead of time. And there are discount coupons on the website as well.
I hope you have a great time in OC. I'm sure you'll want to come back again and again.

There is handicap parking available at the Inlet (Hugh T Cropper Inlet Parking Lot), and to accommodate the physically challenged patrons, a 90-minute grace period is in place.

In addition, handicap parking spaces are located near the beach as well as the boardwalk. However, if the length of time spent in the parking lot is 91-minutes or more, the person will have to pay for the entire time spent in the parking lot in accordance with the posted parking fees.

For information regarding other parking areas as well as the parking fees for the Inlet Parking Lot, please visit http://ococean.com/travel-tools/parking-information for detailed information.

If you are looking to visit the beach, I would recommend a parking space above 30th Street as the side streets will offer free parking in this area and provide easy access to the beach.  All side streets adjacent to the boardwalk area are pay-for-parking.

For access to all other amenities, the facilities will have available parking, including handicap parking spaces, which are all free of charge.

Thank you,
Anna G.

I am traveling with a group of families. We want to stay on the beach, someplace thats quiet but not too far from activities. Kids range in age from 5 to 16. What areas should we look at? Any areas we should avoid?

Hello, I would defiently recommend the comfort inn on 3rd and boardwalk, there's also the howard johnson on 12th and boardwalk, admiral, coastal inn, sleep inn, spinnaker, etc. to name a few. These are either near or on the boardwalk not too far from trimpers amusements and arcades. Check out www.ococean.com and click on accomadations. Or check out www.ocpackages.com for more places to stay.
