What is the water temperature during Memorial Day weekend? Warm enough to swim?

The water will still be a bit cold, but will be warm enough to swim if you don't mind a chill (meaning, most kids will swim, most adults won't!)

The water temperature is currently in the mid 50s, and will be about 60 degrees (Fahrenheit) by Memorial Day weekend.

You can get lots of water temperature information for the east coast, including OCMD, here: http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/dsdt/wtg12.html

Even if you think it is too cold to swim, OCMD's beach on Memorial Day is a great destination. I am hoping to get there with my family then!

Are there any free fishing areas in OC that a nonresident wouldn't need a license for? Are there any places to rent rods/equipment?

I believe that you can also fish without a license from a property you are renting, provided you are on private property.  But the short answer is that you will most likely need a permit.

It looks as though the last clamming questions were asked 2 years ago. So just to refresh...Where are some good places to go clamming in Ocean City (or nearby)? I'm assuming you still DO NOT need a license or permit for this.

I've never had any experience clamming, so I had to look it up.
Here's a great answer I found for your question.

I could not find this listed as an event this year either on its own, or as a part of SpringFest.  The Harbor Days festival offered 10+ different crab soups.  If I find any more information, I will update my answer, so check back often.
