Loreen,

Contact one of the local vacation rental agencies and they will gladly assist you in finding the perfect rental based on your desired dates, amenities, location, and price range.  A couple of our favorites are Coldwell Banker and Central Reservations, but any of the agencies are able and willing to assist.

Don't miss going to Seacrets, great nightlife, food, and atmosphere.  A few other suggestions, FishTales, MR Ducks, Greene Turtle, and De Lazy Lizard.

Thank you,
Anna G.

Is the weather May 13 through May 16 usually warm beach weather? My husband and I are bringing my 2 yr old and 4 yr old for the weekend and they love the beach.

Nobody can predict how warm it will be then.  We're always in OC the following weekend and we've been there in shorts and we've been there in heavy coats and sweatshirts. As for the ocean temperature, it will be in the 50's.Much too cold for me to go in, but I've seen people do it.  Here's a suggestion.  If it's warm and the ocean is too cold for your little ones, buy or take along a small inflatable pool. Put your chairs and umbrella up and inflate the pool and fill it with ocean water. The water will warm quickly and the little ones will be happy to jump in and out and build sandcastles, etc. And Trimper's boardwalk rides will be open indoors for children their ages. Plus there are several playground structures on the beach (ship, castle) that the kids can play and climb on.

I have never been to Ocean City before. I am looking at a condo that is located on 99th street. I was told that there is bus transportation that runs very frequently to take you to the boardwalk? Is this true? Planning on going from June 6 - 10.

AnnMarie,

Yes, OC offers a bus that is $2 to ride all day.  Just keep your receipt and you can hop on and off the bus whenever and wherever you like for that entire day.

There are bus stops throughout OC.  Some offer benches or covered seating.

Park your car, sit back, ride the bus, and enjoy your vacation!

Peggy,

There is the OC Spring Clean Up day in April (4/16-17 I believe).  Otherwise, I would suggest contacting the Public Works Department at 410-524-0318.

I am planning a romantic anniversary weekend for my boyfriend and I this weekend - April 1-3, 2011. I've been to OC many times, especially during the peak season. But I'm having trouble coming up with something different for this coming weekend. It seems that most of the "romantic" stuff - like dinner cruises, etc. aren't open yet. We are staying at the Hilton Suites. Any romantic ideas for something different?

Amanda,

Try sunset dinner at Fager's Island one night - they have great dinner specials right now.  Another location would be Seacrets - great atmosphere as well and they had great dinner specials too!

Activities, off season may limit some of the normal stuff I would recommend, but - take a walk on the beach.  Rent a bike built for two and ride the boardwalk.

Enjoy all the amenities offered by the Hilton - indoor pool, restaurant, bar, etc.

Take a romantic stroll at Northside Park.  If you dine at Fager's Island, walk over to the pier and pavilion on the bay and get a front row seat to a beautiful sunset!

Hope this gives you a few ideas.

Hi John,
There is plenty to keep your toddler amused in OC.  Of course the world famous boardwalk, but did you know that Trimper's indoor rides on the boardwalk is geared just for small children like yours? How about buying some sand toys and building an awesome sand castle with your little one.  Fly a kite. The water parks will be open as well.  Play mini golf together!  Take a ride to Salisbury and visit the zoo........it's free!
There is a spring Arts and Crafts show at the Convention Center on 40th St. Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. Of course little ones are always happy just to walk on the beach and find seashells, so be sure to bring a little bucket along with you.
You could try crabbing or going for a boat ride with your child. Drive to Assateague to see the wild ponies. Ice skating at the Carousel Hotel.  They have skates for all ages from the tiniest to the biggest. Have lunch at BJ's on the Water at 75th St. They feed the ducks and geese daily at 1 p.m.  Take a walk around Northside Park and out the pier.

Is the beginning of the boardwalk (inlet area) just boards? At what street does the action begin?

The beginning of the boardwalk consist of the rides at Trimpers and Jolly Rodgers on the pier. Many spots for eats, shops, arcades and so forth.  There is pier parking and street parking and this is a heavily populated area during the evening hours in season.
