If you are getting married on the beach in Ocean City, you need to get permission from City Hall.  There is no fee, but you need to fill out a form. Call City Hall at 410-289-8221 .  You should also ask about what you need as to wedding license, etc.
One of the most popular places for all things wedding is Rox Weddings and Events.  They have photographers and videographers available. Give them a call at 410-289-7699  or check their website at www.roxenterprises.com

Are dogs allowed on the boardwalk or on the beach?

Depends on the time of year. Dogs are permitted between October 1 and April 30th. But not from May 1 to October 1.  And all dogs must be on a leash when walking them around OC. There is a dog park available on 94th St. You will need to purchase a pass from Parks and Recreation to use it.

Can you ride a mobility scooter on the boardwalk without any time limitations? i.e bikes have to be off the boardwalk by a certain time. Thanks, Carla

Carla,

I would recommend contacting the Town of Ocean City.  I don't believe there are restrictions relating to mobility scooters, however just to be sure to avoid any issues, it's always better to ask and have a defnitive response.

Harold,

I would check with the Town of Ocean City periodically.  Once the plan is finalized (just approved to do all wood boardwalk at their meeting last week) and work begins they will be able to provide specific information as to purchasing old boardwalk planks.  Their website is http://oceancitymd.gov/.

Thank you,

Justyna,

Try Castle in the Sand (http://www.castleinthesand.com/home.php), American Pool (http://www.americanpool.com/employment/seasonal/lifeguards-in-the-maryland-area/ocean-city-md), or try Indeed (http://www.indeed.com/).

Wishing you the best of luck in finding summer employment!

I am trying to plan my friend's bachelor party. I understand Seacrets is a great place to go to. We will be traveling so what hotels would you recommend? Also, are their golf courses nearby?

Dan,

OC has many golf courses to choose from.  Here's a great listing of the courses for your convenience: http://www.ocean-city.com/golf/.

In addition many hotels will coordinate a golfer's package so your fees, tee times, etc. are all planned and coordinated before your arrival.  A few hotel selections which do this are Carousel, Princess Royale, and Harrison Group.

For the bachelor party, Seacrets is definitely a lot of fun, but why not do a bar crawl on the boardwalk.  Start at OC Frog at the Inlet and try to make your way up to 27th Street by stopping at each bar, having a drink, and moving on.  It's definitely lots of fun.

One important note, grab a taxi company phone number before you leave, or take the bus.  It's much safer if you will be drinking.

Thank you,

We, along with our friends (all over 50 and no kids), are planing our vacation the second week in Sept--12-16. As I read some brochures, it seems that much of the evening entertainment stops around Labor Day. What is there to do in the evenings other than the bar scene? I hope we didn't pick the wrong time to come to Ocean City.

Jeffrey,

OC is becoming more and more of a year round resort area.  Many locations, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc. will still be open during your visit.

A few favorite restaurants to try, Greene Turtle, Bull on the Beach, Blue Ox, Buxy's Salty Dog, etc.  The Clarion (Horizon's) plays some great live music all year - definitely worthwhile to check this location out.

A few other suggestions, an after dinner cruise.  Try the Angler or Judith M at Fishtales.  Delmarva Bike Week will be happening during your visit, so definitely check out the local papers for all the special events happening.

In addition, don't miss the Gem, Jewelry and Mineral Show at the Convention Center on September 16th.  It's a great opportunity to see local artists showcase their jewelry exhibits.

Have a great time and you picked a great time to visit OC!

Virginia,

There are several churches within Ocean City, but I was unable to find a Pentecostal.  However there are several very close to OC.  Check out this website for all the specific information, including address, phone, etc.:  http://www.oceancity.md/oceancity/churches/

Have a great summer vacation!

Is this a safe place for a family vaction, is there a high crime rate?

Pam,

My family visits several times throughout the year and we've never experienced any issues.  Is there crime, like anywhere, yes.  During the summer it is higher, simply because the number of visitors increase dramatically.

The OCPD does an excellent job of keeping order in OC.  If you would like more information about this agency, check out their website:  http://oceancitymd.gov/police/

Our children (8 and 10) are never far out of our sight, but that's in any area.  You use a little extra precaution during the summer months, otherwise, completely safe for any family.

Thank you,
Anna G.

I've been there many times over Labor Day and never seen any. Other than ones that people set off themselves. But not big ones over the ocean.
