This is a rather off the OC path....however....I love going to Ocean City, MD every year when possible. Each year I visit - I look for an Ocean City, MD decal for my car (not a sticker but something to stick on my car window that comes off easily if needbe). Is there a place to get such a thing?

Hi Cynthia,

If such an item existed, the best places to check would be a specialty store such as Donald's Duck Shop on 115th St. at the Gold Coast Mall in Ocean City.  You may email them at: shop@donaldsduckshoppe.com"> shop@donaldsduckshoppe.com or call them at 410-524-9177.

Another idea is to buy a sheet of flexible magnetic material and purchase an ocean city sticker like the one below, stick it on the flexible magnetic material and use it as a removable bumper sticker.

This is a bit of a different question. But im going to be moving to ocean city in about 3 months and i was wondering if you knew of any websites or people i could talk to about finding a place to live. A year round rental preferred. Thank you for your time and any information

You can start with checking out www.forrentbyowner.com .  I would make a trip down about 2 months before you plan on moving and check the local papers out for rentals as well.  Just make sure you specify that you are looking for a year round rental instead of a seasonal one.  I live here full time and you are going to absolutely love it here!

Susan,
We own in OC and I can tell you Karl is absolutely correct, the taxes and other fees are a consideration.  That being said, we would never own a house anywhere else.  We used Ryan Ray at Prudential Carruthers.  He is very knowledgeable of the area and easy to work with.  He can be reached at 1-866-732-7926.  He will work hard to get you the best deal out there.

I'm thinking of using a timeshare week this winter are most of the restaurants and some shops open during the winter? Are there other activities going on?

Bob,
Karl gave a great answer.  The movies are also open year round as are the outlet malls.  Bring a coat and take a walk on the beach.  Remember, OC is warmer than its surrounding areas due to the water.

We are thinking of coming to Ocean City over Thanksgiving. Other than the Festival of Lights, is there anything else (music, concerts, etc.) being planned? Are restaurants generally open or closed during this holiday? Thank you for your help!

Michele,

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time in Ocean City.  We have often spent the morning on the beach - weather permitting.  Most larger restaurants are open and I suggest Sunset Grille, Harrisons Harbor Watch or Jules for a great meal.  The Clarion also has a wonderful dinner with seating right on the ocean.  The day itself if fairly low key, but the next day is crazy at the outlets.  So rest-up, then shop 'till you drop on Friday.

Does anyone have a recipe for the Cajun Pasta at Harrisons Habor watch?

MJ,

My suggestion would be to contact Harrison's directly (contact form:  http://www.harborwatchrestaurant.com/contact/).  The chef may be willing to share his secrets (or even a few of them).

Thank you,

You can go to Harley Davidson of Ocean City to get 2010 biker tees:  www.hdoceancity.com  Call them at 410-629-1599.

Here's an online site for OC teeshirts:  www.zazzle.com/ocean+city+gifts

I am not sure if you can order by phone with Sunsations or any other store but Sunsations locations can be found at:  www.sunsationsusa.com/stores2.html

Fat Cats on the Boardwalk is 410-289-2288
T-Shirt Factory # is 410-213-9650
Ocean Wave Limited up at the Gold Coast Mall # is 410-524-7018

The other option is going to ebay.com and typing in Ocean City MD tee Shirts

Merle,

Go to Mapquest as they provide step by step driving directions, but ultimately you'll be coming in off Route 50 according to this site.

Do people continue to swim in the Ocean the last weekend in September? Are the hotel outdoor pools still open? Are there alot of good summer sales going on? Any shops open and cheaper on the boardwalk? Any great deals anywhere, restaurant wise or entertainment wise since it's off season?

Sure, you can swim in the ocean any time of the year, but there are no lifeguards on the beach now.  As for the hotel pools, each one has a different policy. Some close their outdoor pools right after Labor Day and others remain open as long as the weather is good. Most of the shops are still open on the boards although some have gone to daylight only hours during the week and some have weekend only hours.  As for deals, your best bet would be to check the local free papers that you can pick up around town. They'll have the most current info on deals.  You can also pick them up at the Convention Center's Visitor Center on 40th St.

Elexis,

Fat Cats is great for those types of items.  I believe it is located around 1st Street on the boardwalk.

Activities, great time to visit - it's SUNFEST!!!  Check out this website for all the scheduled activities - http://www.oceancitymd.gov/Recreation_and_Parks/specialevents.html

Have a wonderful time!
