Get Answers from the OC Insiders
Hi! i will be staying at the marriott courtyard at 15th st for 5 days starting 8/16 and need to know the prices to rent an umbrella and two chairs on the beach. the agent at the marriott told me she knows umbrellas and chairs are rentable but didn't know prices because they're not the hotels' - they're the city's (or other entity). i'm looking to figure out if i should bring my own or, if it's reasonably priced, if i should rent. thnx and please get back to me asap.

If you have them to bring, it would definitely be more economical. Another option is Sunsations or Roses or Walmart all have beach chairs and umbrellas for a reasonable rate.

Where can I find out about dedicating a boardwalk bench in honor of my husbands 50th bday?
You can do this through the OC Dept. of Public Works. The cost for the bench and plaque is $1400. Give them a call at 410-524-0391 for more information.

Hello everyone. My wife and I will be visiting Ocean for the first time in this September. We are looking for some nice casual restaurants. Price is not an issue as we save all year for our vacation. Also would love to know what The Hilton is like. Thank you to everyone.

We stayed at the Hilton last year and were very satisfied. The service and rooms were excellent. We did have one issue as the computer had a glitch and caused the phone to ring all night. The manager took 50% off the room. What could I say but "wow".Â

A friend got some nice ocean city sweatshirts recently when vacationing in ocean city md., & when I asked where she got them, she said a $5.99 store! She was not sure of the location, can you give me locations of this type of store in ocean city md please?
roses store on 94th street. also sometimes sunsations has some nice shirts for good prices. check them out when you go kim.

Does Amtrak Stop near Ocean City?
No.  You could take the the Greyhound Bus Lines to Ocean City from multible locations.

Is there anywhere to rent a stroller? A double or bike stroller would be preferable.

I was thinking of going to OC in late September. What is the weather like and how many of the attractions remain open?

Ocean City is wonderful in late September.... it gets a little cooler at night, so you'll need a hoodie, but shorts are still OK for the most part.... the ocean is still warm and spending the day on the beach is still the norm... keep in mind by late September, the Ocean City Beach Patrol has taken down the lifeguard stands and has become an emergency response force... you'll see them on 4 wheelers, but no one will be stationed full time. Some stores, restaurants and businesses will have started a weekends only schedule, but not many..... the outdoor rides at the Jolly Roger Park at 30th Street and the Pier, and Trimper's Outdoor rides at the Inlet may be closed or open only on the weekends by that time.... other than that, you'll find Ocean City is still up and in full swing.

How long can you rent chairs and umbrellas? We will be arriving the week of September 13.
Depending on where you are staying depends on when they stop. The busier locations will be open on weekends for rentals. However, if you are not staying near a large hotel or at the lower end of the boardwalk don't bank on it.
