Lakisha,
I would really be aware of these dates as we have seen several people fined this summer for having their dogs on the beach.

Jennifer,

September is my favorite time to visit Ocean City!!!!  The days are still nice and warm, so I can spend most of my time on the beach and in the ocean.  Evenings out and about or on the boardwalk tend to start getting cooler, so bring a hoodie!!!!  Love hoodie and shorts weather.  You'll find that the rates tend to start dropping in late August, so you are going at a great time.  For a 3 year old, I'd recommend the Spinnaker Motel on 18th Street and Baltimore Avenue... http://www.purnellproperties.com/spinnaker  Great rooms, great location, awesome elevated heated pool and deck, super staff!!!  Check it out.  Hope you have a great time in Ocean City!!!!

We are looking at Ocean City for a bachelorette weekend for next summer but none of us have actually been there! We really want to play Pub Golf one night but are having trouble finding all of the locations. We will be going to 9 total locations and they all need to be walking distance or on a bus line. We need to start at a bar with great food and end at a spot with good dancing. Any help would be great!!!

Sharon,
Although I do not know the route used, several people just set the Guiness Record for a pub crawl in Ocean City:  http://www.mdcoastdispatch.com/article.php?cid=18&id=9260.  I know they started on the Boardwalk and worked their way north.  I would end at Seacrets - great location, bands and drinks.

What is the average number of tourists in a summer season?

Jessica,

According to the Baltimore Sun, the number of tourists on any summer weekend can exceed 300,000!  So, that's a very high total number of tourists during a summer season.

Thank you,
Anna G.

We are looking into planning our 2011 vacation and would like to try somewhere new. We heard wonderful things about Ocean City and would love to go their with our 3 year old daughter. I have done research on hotels/motels now I'm looking for a kid friendly place to eat (chicken nuggets, fries, hot dogs, etc.) but also something special for me and my husband like crab cakes and fish. Can you recommend some places that we can have the best of both worlds? Also looking into a price range of about $20 a dish to fit our budget. Thank you

Danielle,

Fish Tales, De Lazy Lizard, Dead Freddies, Harrisons Harbor Watch, Macky's, Dough Roller, and Dumsers Dairy Land all come to mind as kid friendly places.  You can easily go over $20pp at each but if you choose some of the cheaper items on the menu, you can keep the cost under $20 pp.

Mackys would be the most expensive of the places I mentioned but they have a great appetizer menu also which reasonable prices.  You can get a large bowl of soup, a salad and an appetizer under $20.

How do you carry all the stuff(cooler, umbrellas, chairs, baby pool) you need to the beach. My husband and I are traveling with our 3 year old and 8 month old boys.

Teeg,

Here is the beach tote we have:  http://www.beachchairs.com/beach-accessories/wheel-carts/deluxewonderwheelerwithfrontwheelsandtote.cfm?TID=RIB131&source=channel_intelligence_gbase&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=RIB131
It holds all our chairs as well as buckets, towells, food, sand toys, books, etc.  It's the best invention since the wheel!

I was told I should bring a little pool to the beach for my 8 month old during my visit. Do the stores in OC sell baby pools?

Teeg,
We have been bringing our little ones since they were only a few months old.  We have purchased a baby pool that needs to be blown up and it worked fine.  Starting this year, we used a large sheet of contractors plastic (like thick saran wrap) and dug a small 1.5 foot deep hole and 5X4' in diameter and just filled it with sea water.  The kids all loved it.

Even the big kids love it!:

Are you allowed to use boogies boards at the beach? Also, are there boogie board rentals available?

There are board rentals at the beaches.  You can normally boogies board anywhere on the beach.  However, if there is rough surf, inexperienced boogie boarders are usually not allowed.  You would need to be experienced and have fins in order to use them on rough surf days.

I would like info on how to obtain a memorial placard for a boardwalk bench.

Kathy,
This is a wonderful honor.  The Public Works Maintenance Division is offering individuals the opportunity to purchase a bench and plaque in honor of or in memory of a loved one or friend. The benches are located on the boardwalk from the Inlet to 27th Street. The cost for the bench and plaque is $1,400. Please contact the Public Works Maintenance Division 410-524-0391 to obtain the bench dedication form that will need to be completed.

You can also dedicate a brick for $100 with the OCFD.  Please call 410-289-4346 for a dedication form.
