My family is coming to OC MD at the end of August and I was interested in renting a bike for us to go out for a ride. Do any of the shops have 2- or 4-seaters for adults and a place for a small child (toddler age 2)? I remember going out with my parents (in Ocean City NJ) when I was a child in a red bike with 4 seats for adults and a basket on the front for the kids (2 seats) and I would love to do this with my family now. Please help. If there is such a thing, could you please let me know where would be the best place to rent? Thanks!!!

Pretty much all the bike places have what you are looking for. I always enjoyed doing that with our son.

Bev,

Take Route 40 East from Baltimore to Delaware.
Pick up Route 1 in Bear, DE.
Route 1 South (toll road).
Follow Route 1 through Delaware and into Ocean City.

Thank you,
Anna G.

There are 4 of us coming to Ocean City the end of August. We booked one room for the 4 of us. The one couple are leaving from there to go on to the next stop of their trip. We are only allowed one car. So where can they park for that week in Ocean City and leave their car or is there no such parking? Thank you.

You can park on most side streets for free. Check with your hotel or condo as they may also have additional spaces available.

We are coming to OC on Monday August 16th. We will be taking Greyhound to the bus station at 12848 Ocean Gateway. We are staying at the Sahara. What is the best way to get from the bus station to the hotel?

Dana,

As some others have mentioned, it may be worth taking the cab. The bus can get crowded at times, especially in the evenings. You will avoid the hassles and headaches of making room on the bus for your luggage + the bus stops at most bus stops and the cab only stops at the stop lights.

Does the boardwalk have a wi-fi cafe or wi-fi in general?

We are bringing a trailer with us to haul a motorcycle for the week while vacationing in OC. Is there a parking lot that we can take the trailer to and leave for the week? We are staying in a townhouse for the week that has a garage and the trailer will not fit in a garage. It is not a huge trailer just enough for 2 bikes. Thanks.

Missy,

The municpal lot on 100th Street is $10 a day. Trailers must park in the gravel area. It is a safe and convenient area.

I am with Savas on this one.  The boards would make for a rough and uncomfortable ride.

Hi, I would like to know the name of the street directly on the beach. I would like to reserve a motel there so we don't have to take the car to go on the beach. Also, I would like to know if there is a dolphin cruise. Thank you.

Everyone answered well, however, I will say that pretty much where ever you stay in Ocean City, you can walk to the beach. A lot of hotels will also say things like 7th Street and the boardwalk, that will tell you the beach is right outside your hotel.

How much is it to rent an umbrella and chairs from the vendors on the beach? I'm staying on 33rd street and I know their setup there but I need to know the price.

Meghane,

If you rent for the week, the rental perosn will set it up for you and have it waiting when you get to the beach. It is a great service.

I will be staying at Best Western at 5501 Coastal Hwy. Where do I rent beach umbrellas and chairs?

Helen,

Another alternative to beach rentals is to purchase beach supplies from the local stores such as Rose's, Sunsations, Walmart, CVS, etc.  This will provide you with the needed items for many years to come.

In addition, check with the Best Western to see if they have any beach chairs or umbrellas available.  Many hotels now offer this service to their guests at no charge, or very reasonable charge.

If you don't have the arms to carry anything additional or your hotel doesn't provide, check out the big blue boxes at the entrance to many beaches.  The staff will set up your beach umbrella and chairs for you and take them down at the end of the day.

Thank you,
Anna G.
