Is there anywhere to rent a stroller? A double or bike stroller would be preferable.

Katharine,
The Roses Store has a single umbrella stroller for $7.99.  If that does not meet your needs, I have had great luck with PMI Rentals as well.

I was thinking of going to OC in late September. What is the weather like and how many of the attractions remain open?

Jenny,

Ocean City is wonderful in late September.... it gets a little cooler at night, so you'll need a hoodie, but shorts are still OK for the most part.... the ocean is still warm and spending the day on the beach is still the norm... keep in mind by late September, the Ocean City Beach Patrol has taken down the lifeguard stands and has become an emergency response force... you'll see them on 4 wheelers, but no one will be stationed full time.  Some stores, restaurants and businesses will have started a weekends only schedule, but not many..... the outdoor rides at the Jolly Roger Park at 30th Street and the Pier, and Trimper's Outdoor rides at the Inlet may be closed or open only on the weekends by that time.... other than that, you'll find Ocean City is still up and in full swing.

How long can you rent chairs and umbrellas? We will be arriving the week of September 13.

Tammy,

Great time to visit - many of the shops will be selling their summer merchandise at a discount, including beach chairs and umbrellas.  Take advantage and have your supplies for next year - that is if you have room to take home - if not, we have left them in our hotel rooms or condos previously for individual use.

Thank you,

I never vacationed at O.C and would like to know where does the boardwalk start and end. Would like to stay walking distance to everything. Are there some nice resorts right on the beach? Would even consider a house renatl for the week. Thank You

Peggy,

The boardwalk goes essentially from the Inlet at the south of town to 28th Street..... approximately 2.5 miles.......  While you say you'd like to stay in walking distance to "everything", I need to know more about what your perception of "everything" is..... If you want to be in the hub of action, I suggest you stay at 9th Street and below.... if you want to be in "walking distance" to everything on the boardwalk, I'd say that you stay between 12th and 27th Street... this way, you can walk to and from all boardwalk attractions, but have some peace and quiet when you return to your room.  Here are a few suggestions on places to stay....

1. Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 17th Street and Boardwalk http://www.ocmdhotels.com/ocsuites/

Quality Inn Boardwalk, 16th Street http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-ocean_city-maryland-MD011?promo=gglocal

The Grand Hotel, 21st Street and Boardwalk http://www.grandhoteloceancity.com/

The Breakers Hotel, 3rd Street and Boardwalk http://www.ocbreakers.com/

Peggy, those are some of the nicer hotels along the boardwalk..... I hope that one of them suits what you are looking for.  You could also give the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce a call (410) 213-0552 http://www.oceancity.org/ to see if they have any other recommendations for you.

Ocean City looks forward to hosting you on your first visit to the town.... I promise you, as my other Insider colleagues will agree, you will fall in love with this town, and want to visit Ocean City every year for year's to come!!!!  Have a great time!

Cheryl,

Ocean City, MD is fast becoming a year-round resort area and the boardwalk and beaches never close.  So in response to your question, yes the beach is open.  Just note, lifeguards may not be at full force so make sure to have a cell phone available for emergencies (just in case).

Hope you have a great vacation!
