My family will be coming down the week of Sept 11. Will the chair and umbrella rentals that are on the beach still be available?

Amanda,

Believe the beach umbrellas are only available for rental through Labor Day.  However, the Sunsation shops, Rose's, Walmart, etc. are all open and you can find great deals on beach supplies.  I have found you actually can find deals on umbrellas and chairs which is more economical than renting.

Thank you,

Do you know of a good bakery in OCMD to get a "real" birthday cake? I used to go to Del Vecchio's in Fenwick Island every year for my mom's birthday cake (the best!!) but I just saw that they closed! Any suggestions?

Marianne,

For a baked cake (not ice cream), I would recommend Desserts By Rita in West Ocean City. Her number  is 410-213-7778 and her website is: www.dessertsbyrita.com

The cakes there are delicious!

I am going to ask a silly question, but here goes. I was just curious as if anyplace in OC sells Boars Head cold cuts. I would like to try to save some money and buy them for our lunch. Thank you.

I believe the Super Thrift on 43rd St has Boars Head meats.

The Mini Market on 33rd St is a true butcher shop and I would recomend their meats also.

Is there any other water taxi service other than The Buzz Boat Water Taxi? The guy who does the service will not be available the weekend I'm taking a vacation. It's such a fun idea and was curious if there is any other options out there?

Nic,

UPDATE:

Recently found a Liquid Limo brochure.....

The brochure specifies bar hopping to many of the bayside hot spots.

The company name is Chesapeake Yacht Services and their number is (410) 627-7999.  It indicates to call for rates and reservations - so can't comment on fees associated with this service.

Thank you,
Anna G.

Depending on which part of twon you are in depends on if you will be charged a fee or not.  You will be charged for handicapped parking on the side streets if it is a metered street.

Is there any way to avoid the traffic around the Christiana Mall area on the drive to and from Pennsylvania? We sit here forever in both directions. I always think that we should take the mall exit and then re-enter the highway somehow, but further down.

Whatever Bill recommends, I would go with.   He is a frequent visitor to OC.

OC is great because it suits all ages. So many things to do. You find OC is the best vacation spot on the east coast.

I want to go to OC this weekend but the website says I can't bring my dog between Oct. 1st and April 30th, is this true?

You may not have your dog on the beach or the boardwalk, but they are permitted if your hotel permits it.

I am planning a family trip to Ocean City Sept 24-27th and I am wondering if the businesses on the boardwalk will still be open during this time

Most everything will be open.  It is a great time of the year to visit Ocean City.  The crowds are gone and the weather is usually great.
