We are coming to OC on Monday August 16th. We will be taking Greyhound to the bus station at 12848 Ocean Gateway. We are staying at the Sahara. What is the best way to get from the bus station to the hotel?

Dana,

As some others have mentioned, it may be worth taking the cab. The bus can get crowded at times, especially in the evenings. You will avoid the hassles and headaches of making room on the bus for your luggage + the bus stops at most bus stops and the cab only stops at the stop lights.

Does the boardwalk have a wi-fi cafe or wi-fi in general?

We are bringing a trailer with us to haul a motorcycle for the week while vacationing in OC. Is there a parking lot that we can take the trailer to and leave for the week? We are staying in a townhouse for the week that has a garage and the trailer will not fit in a garage. It is not a huge trailer just enough for 2 bikes. Thanks.

Missy,

The municpal lot on 100th Street is $10 a day. Trailers must park in the gravel area. It is a safe and convenient area.

Is it ok for a child to ride an electric powered Razor scooter on the boardwalk?

I am with Savas on this one.  The boards would make for a rough and uncomfortable ride.

Hi, I would like to know the name of the street directly on the beach. I would like to reserve a motel there so we don't have to take the car to go on the beach. Also, I would like to know if there is a dolphin cruise. Thank you.

Everyone answered well, however, I will say that pretty much where ever you stay in Ocean City, you can walk to the beach. A lot of hotels will also say things like 7th Street and the boardwalk, that will tell you the beach is right outside your hotel.

How much is it to rent an umbrella and chairs from the vendors on the beach? I'm staying on 33rd street and I know their setup there but I need to know the price.

Comment on - Umbrellas are about $12 a day or $55 a week
Chairs are about $5 a day or $20 a week.

If you rent from PMI rentals, Umbrellas are $26 a week and chairs are $12 a week.

I will be staying at Best Western at 5501 Coastal Hwy. Where do I rent beach umbrellas and chairs?

Helen,

Another alternative to beach rentals is to purchase beach supplies from the local stores such as Rose's, Sunsations, Walmart, CVS, etc.  This will provide you with the needed items for many years to come.

In addition, check with the Best Western to see if they have any beach chairs or umbrellas available.  Many hotels now offer this service to their guests at no charge, or very reasonable charge.

If you don't have the arms to carry anything additional or your hotel doesn't provide, check out the big blue boxes at the entrance to many beaches.  The staff will set up your beach umbrella and chairs for you and take them down at the end of the day.

Thank you,
Anna G.

Great store with lots of cool, technical water gear! The clothing lines are extensive as are the accessories and shoes. It is a really nice store. Bring lots of money!

My family will be in OC at the end of Aug. My cousins want to meet up with us, but they want to come by boat across the bay. Is there a public marina where they could rent a slip for a night? Thanks in advance.

Dave,

Try Bahia Marina, Harbor Island, or Sunset Island.  You will need to call prior to your visit to make a reservation and to verify slip openings.

Thank you,

What's the weather like there at the beginning of November? Is the Boardwalk still open?

The weather can really be hit or miss...you may have a weekend in the upper 60's or it could be in the 40's.  The boardwalk is still open; but closes around 5.
