Defenitly shop around if you're looking for motels. Spinnaker is a nice motel on the beach and you can take the kids to the boardwalk. Jolly Roger is an excellent place for kids as well as Trimpers amusements. You can also check out some stuff in west ocean city as well. The beaches are free in Maryland (compared to NJ fellow Jerseyan) and they are a lot cleaner too!!! I wish NJ would keep up!

The weather in late October can be hard to predict...if you happen to get there when it is around 70 degrees you will think you have gone to heaven!  The beaches are cleared out from the summer and it is a much quieter atmosphere.  The only downside is that some of the resturants/attractions are only open in the summer, but there is still plenty to see and do then.  You may also want to check OC's calendar of events and plan around an event that grabs your interest.  For example, there is an Oktoberfest, Winefest, hot rod car show, Celtic music festival; amongst other things all planned for October.

The Donald Duck Shoppe in Gold Coast Mall has some really great historical books about OC.  What kind of books are you looking for?

Can you tell me if the tram still runs during the week (and on weekends) in October? We are planning a trip 10/7-10/11 and want to stay at the Dunes Manor. That's a long walk to the inlet for our three year old.

Hi. They are still running right now during the week. just came back I did see them running during Columbus Day weekend last year but you will have plenty of parking if you take your car down to the huge inlet parking lot in october it will be less crowded and have a nice time

Hi...I vacation at OCMD every year...we stay at the Executive Motel! We love OCMD! I have a question that I cannot find the answer to! Back when I was a small child, (20 years ago) my parents used to bring me to OCMD every year too...and I seem to remember there being a HUGE water slide near the parking lot at the inlet. Am I just imagining things? My parents don't seem to remember the huge slide...but I seem to remember it clearly. It was a huge, double slide, that went straight down, and you had to cross your arms over your chest because it was so steep and almost straight down. Can you give me any information about this waterslide? I am very interested in it...I truly believe it was in OCMD, but it is definitely not there anymore, and has long since been gone. Maybe even 20 years gone! Please let me know. I am very curious! I love OCMD!

I can't remember the name of the slides at the peir at the inlet. I used to be a lifeguard in VA and our boss would bring the guards up at the end of the summer to go to the slides you are talking about. They had the one body slide that we always called the Water Wedgey! You are not crazy they were there!
