Can you tell me if the tram still runs during the week (and on weekends) in October? We are planning a trip 10/7-10/11 and want to stay at the Dunes Manor. That's a long walk to the inlet for our three year old.

Hi. They are still running right now during the week. just came back I did see them running during Columbus Day weekend last year but you will have plenty of parking if you take your car down to the huge inlet parking lot in october it will be less crowded and have a nice time

Hi...I vacation at OCMD every year...we stay at the Executive Motel! We love OCMD! I have a question that I cannot find the answer to! Back when I was a small child, (20 years ago) my parents used to bring me to OCMD every year too...and I seem to remember there being a HUGE water slide near the parking lot at the inlet. Am I just imagining things? My parents don't seem to remember the huge slide...but I seem to remember it clearly. It was a huge, double slide, that went straight down, and you had to cross your arms over your chest because it was so steep and almost straight down. Can you give me any information about this waterslide? I am very interested in it...I truly believe it was in OCMD, but it is definitely not there anymore, and has long since been gone. Maybe even 20 years gone! Please let me know. I am very curious! I love OCMD!

I can't remember the name of the slides at the peir at the inlet. I used to be a lifeguard in VA and our boss would bring the guards up at the end of the summer to go to the slides you are talking about. They had the one body slide that we always called the Water Wedgey! You are not crazy they were there!

Ocean City never sleeps (or closes)!
Answered: April 7, 2010
So far I went to Ocean city in April spring break (too cold) and August (great temp but the crowds) late June (nice water temp but class trips crowds) and this time we want to go after kids are back in school, but the water still warm enough to enjoy? And we want to be near a perfect fishing spot and a place to stay that has kitchettes to cook our fish too. Any suggetions? Does the boardwalk quiet right down after labor day? We like Chincoteague area too, so is there something in the middle of both OCB and down there and near quiet fishing spots? Thanks for reading.

September is a great time to visit.  Water temp - you can never guarantee.

Fishing spots - there are several throughout the bayside of Ocean City as well as at the Inlet.

Since you are looking for a kitchenette - there are a couple hotels that will offer them. Try Castle in the Sand, Princess Royale, or Best Western Boardwalk.

For Condos that will give you not only a full kitchen, but laundry facilities, and more space, check out www.cbvacations.com.   Since you have speicfic requirements, ie close to fishing spots, call and speak for a vacation specialist.  I would highly recommend Breezy Kammermaier.

up by the high rises, you pay $55 a week for an umbrella. They do all the work. You just show up and leave. For $45, you can also buy a really nice umbrella from Sunsations but you will have to put it in and take it down each day as well as take it home. Our beach umbrella is on it's last legs but we have been using it 30+ days a year for the last 10+ years. Thats like over $200 a years worth of use and over 10 years, $2,000. Needless to say, we don't rent from the stands.

We will be sharing a condo there next week. There is parking space for only one vehicle. Any weekly parking lots available?

Most condos offer off-street parking, especially those above 27th Street.  We normally have more cars than the allotted parking spaces as well and have never had issues with finding free parking spots next to or very close to our condos.

However, there are several parking lots available throughout Ocean City.  Check www.ococean.com for additional information.
