Can you park at the inlet parking lot overnight this weekend? And, if so, how much is it?

Because at this time of year the regulations change and special events also have impacts, I double checked my answer with the Public Works Department responsible for parking. They were very helpful.

Yes, you can park overnight in the inlet parking lot this weekend. However, be aware that it is Corvette Weekend and about 75% of the spaces in the lot will be reserved for that event. Non attendees, including non registered Corvettes, may be using many of the of spots in the remaining 25% of the lot.

The cost to park in the inlet lot at this time of year is as follows:
  Less than 30 minutes:           Free
  31 minutes – 40 minutes:     $1.00
  41 - 50 minutes:                  $1.25
  51 - 60 minutes                   $1.50
Additional time is $0.25 for 10 minutes or $.50 per hour.

Note that a lost ticket results in the maximum daily charge of $36.00.

You can get more information here.

There is no fee for parking in the inlet lot after 21 October this year.

Have fun in OC this weekend!

That's a generous offer. I'd recommend reaching out to any of the following three branches of the OC Government. They all maintain these wheelchairs:

OC Beach Patrol: 410.289.7556
OC Police Department: 410.723.6610
OC Visitors Center at the Convention Center: 410.289.2800

Hi! I'm from the Baltimore area; college student and extremely ambitious, looking to work in Ocean City for the summer of 2013! As I am aware it's only October, I want to have all "ducks in a row" ,if you will, before I make any final decisions. As of right now, I'm just trying to research possible housing situations ( right now I'm thinking a group of 6 ) What would be able an average cost for such circumstances, from about late may to early September? Also, What kind of jobs would be available for a group of girls who are about 19? Thanks!

Congratulation on your decision!  I did the same thing when I was in college.  I worked for the Harrison Group at the Harrison Harbor Watch.  Click here for information on them,   It was a fun summer.  I also worked for Phillips Crab House.  Phillips had a meal plan but I never really showed up for the meals and they deducted the meals from my pay check.  Some place in Ocean City offer housing with the job like the Candy Kitchen:  http://www.ocsummerjobs.com/housing/faqs.html

For a list of seasonal rentals, click here.

some streets are known party streets like 28th St and many of the roads attached to it like Lark and Robin Drives.  It can get wild.  Baywinds and Summerwinds condos come to mind on the 28th ST corrider.  I enjoyed living on 94th ST and up north near the Carousel the best as they were quieter.

The most money can be made working as a wait staff at some of the busier restaurants.  I made more money in one summer than I made at my first job out of college.  I wanted to go back to the beach and work again!

I am planning a trip for October 19 - October 25th with my 14 year old daughter. What are some things you would suggest? We are considering also driving to DC and even possibly New York - what are your thoughts on this?

If your daughter likes to shop, be sure to head to the outlets on Rt. 50 or in Rehoboth!  Great store selection in both areas sure to please both of you.

I was planning a trip to OC around the 18th of October for several days. Is there anything for 11 years olds to do - are there any rides, go karts, etc open then?

There will be more open if you are staying thought the weekend. Here are some ideas of things to do that will be open:

Walk or take a bike ride on the boardwalk. You can ride in the morning and there is a bike rental place right next to your motel. It's just 2.25 miles to the inlet and there are lots of great shops and places to eat along the way. On a nice day some shops will be open.

Visit on of the boardwalk arcades; Marty's Playland  is our favorite!

Planet Maze (33rd Street) is has an arcade and fun laser tag games.

Baja Amusements in West OC has some great go cart tracks for all ages.

Play Mini golf. There are locations all over OC. I love the Old Pro courses, especially the ones at 68th Street.

Checkout the Delmarva Discovery Museum.

Go to the Salisbury Zoo - it's free!

Try one of the famous OC treats, Thrasher's Fries, Dumser's ice cream, Fisher's popcorn (my favorite!), Candy Kitchen candy, and may others.

Go Ice Skating at the Carousel.

Go Bowling at Ocean Lanes at 72nd street - they have bumpers they can setup for kids (call ahead to check for lane availability 410.524.7550) note: cash only.

Enjoy several of OC's great restaurants. Be sure to eat one night at a place where you can watch the sunset on the bay.

Visit the Life Saving Museum at the south end of the boardwalk to learn a little more about something you are interested in

Drive down to Assateague to see the ponies. Be sure to stop at the new Visitor's Center.

For even more ideas and discount coupons stop at the Visitor Center at the south end of the Convention Center at 40th Street.

I highly recommend staying at a place with an indoor pool. That way no matter what the weather you can go swimming!

Have a great trip to OC!

Does the boardwalk tram run all year? We're going this weekend (9/29-9/30) and my father might like a ride.

The boardwalk tram is closed for the season.  It was running for Sunfest weekend but it closed again for the season.  There will be boardwalk trams running to take you around the Winterfest Lights during the Christmas season at Northside Park.   It's an awesome event.  http://oceancitymd.gov/recreation_and_parks/specialevents.html
