This summer will be our second vacation at Ocean City, so we are familiar with the area. We were wondering where the closest Casino may be. Also, as before, we will be celebrating our 59th & 60th birtdays the week we're there. Any suggestions for a good restaurant where a little dancing may be involved?

The closest casino is Harrington in Delaware which is about an hour or so away. http://www.harringtonraceway.com/ There are many dance clubs in OC MD. You may enjoy a nice dinner at Fagers, watch the sunset and dance on their dance floor. But you can also check out Seacrets, the Party Block, BJs and more.

My boyfriend and I are coming out June 22 - 27 and are wondering what we can do for fun. We are 28 years old and we are pretty much open for anything. Where do you recommend staying? What restraunts are the best in town? Any bonfires? Sunset Cruises?

Look into a condo - provides more space and all the amenities of home for about the same rate you will pay for a hotel room. I highly recommend www.cbvacations.com and Breezy Kammermeier. She's helped us find the perfect condo every year. Hotels - I would recommend the Grand Hotel, Princess Royale, Castle on the Sand, or for upscale - Hilton. Restaurants - if you've never been to Seacrets you have to go and see if for yourself. Great bayfront dining, excellent drinks, try the jerk chicken - yummo! Fishtales is great b/c you get bayfront dining, in a casual atmosphere. They even have kite swings for the adults. Brass Balls - oceanfront dining, definitely eat outside on the deck if weather permits. Green Turtle North - game room on the 2nd floor is great. Check out the Sunny Day catalog when you get in to OC as well as the local newspapers. They will tell you all the upcoming activities, events, as well as many of the local activities that provide discounts. Hope you have a great vacation!

What are some fun activities to do on those days when it's raining other than sitting in your room?

Rainy days in Ocean City? No Problem! First and foremost. Keep the TV off. You can do that at home. You can walk around and shop, go to the movies, and eat at the Gold Coast Mall at 115th St, go across the street to the Carousel Hotel and try your skills at ice skating. Try the Ocean City outlets in west OC, or the movies in north OC. Museums? The life saving museum at the end of the boardwalk is awesome + Ripleys and there is a shipwreck museum further up north in Fenwick Island. Like miniture golf? There is an Old Pro Indoor Golf at 68th and they have an arcade also. They are open year round. Speaking of arcades, plenty around town and on the boardwalk. Rides? Plenty of indoor rides for the kids at Trimpers on the boardwalk. Or maybe eat one of the hundreds of restaurants. I would like to reccomend Harrisons Harbor Watch where you can get a window seat and watch the boats coming and going or just watch the rain. Many of the local gyms have one day memberships as well as 1 week memberships. Use the time to get in shape and feel good about yourself. Does your hotel have an indoor pool? Enough said... Use the time as some family game time. get to know one another again. Buy the games at Roses on 94th or Walmart on Ocean Gateway(rt 50 outside of OC)or many of the other local stores. Ladies, pamper yourself at one of the local spas. Get a massage. Just get off your butt and get out and have some fun! Rainy days in OC sometimes last minutes to hours but with the coastal winds, don't expect the rain to last too long!

I will be coming to oc next weekend with my family. We have 2 teenage daughters and they will be bringing their friend along. We will be staying around 59th street. Is this a good area and if it is too cold to swim what is there to do? Also my friend and her husband are joining us and they have a five year old daughter! Does the boardwalk run all the way down there? Is there carnivals close to us? I have been looking online but everything is so overwelming any suggestions would help.

The teens will love mini-golf and there is an indoor facility around 63rd street - just in case of rain. The movie theater's always have first run movies and it's great entertainment if weather doesn't cooperate. There is also a bowling alley close to where you are staying, not sure of exact location - but great teen entertainment. If sunny weather, many teens love sitting on the beach, walking the boardwalk, shopping (OC Outlets are great), or the water park. Several posters recommended Jolly Roger - but check out 65th Street Slide & Ride. Close to your location and you may be able to find coupons in the Sunny Day catalog. There is a laser tag place with mini golf and indoor climbing area. Something for all the kids. Also, an indoor arcade around 61st Street. For the five year old - try mini golf, arcade, rides (inlet has a great area right behind the boardwalk), arcade, beach, waves, kite flying, treasure hunting (my daughter loves searching for seashells early in the morning!). Hope your family has a great time.

I heard that the beaches are closed due to medical waste. Is this true? Or are the beaches safe and open to public?

New York and New Jersey beaches have been closed due to medical waste, but I have never heard of Ocean City closing beaches for that. OC does close beaches when there are bad rip tides. The beginning of September part of the beach was closed for awhile when a piece of an ancient ship washed ashore.

Before I got my place I most always would stay either at Fort Waley or Frontier Town. Great for kids for sure!! Google it and check it out. Both have shuttles to OC and pools and activites for the whole family.

We will be in OC for only 1 night (and the better part of 2 days) over Memorial Day Weekend. What are the "not to miss" things to see and do in a short amount of time? We are 4 upper 40's adults..no kids with us on this trip.
