We will be in OC for only 1 night (and the better part of 2 days) over Memorial Day Weekend. What are the "not to miss" things to see and do in a short amount of time? We are 4 upper 40's adults..no kids with us on this trip.

We will be staying at the Golden Sands (109th St) in August. Where is the best place to park when we drive to the boardwalk? We'll have 2 young kids with us and don't want to take the crowded busses.

You can park at the inlet for a fee.

I have been going to OC the second week of August every year for the past 23 years. Only one time did we get alot of rain and that was like 16 years ago. The weather is hot and the Ocean has warmed up to bearable refreshing tempatures. I seriosly doubt that you will be disapointed.

I'll be staying on 136th St. The place where I'm staying has no Internet access. Where is the nearest place for me to find wireless access?

McDonald's has free WiFI and most of the major hotels. I know for a fact that the Clarion 101st St has WIFI and there is always the public library on 100th street that has free public access computers too

where do you drop your cars off to stay so the tram can take you to the inlet?

The best place to park is at the inlet and then ride the tram up and back. You can also walk the boardwalk as far up as you want and then hail one back for $3. You can board a tram anywhere just wave them down. :)

Besides the beach and boardwalk what can we do with our 4 year old. Are there other activities going on with other young children. We will be traveling Aug. 8-15.

When my children were this age (now 6 & 8), they enjoyed anything we did together. Mini golf, swimming, playing on the beach, walking the boardwalk, staying up late to see the lights at the inlet and then grabbing ice cream. Really, it's the little things that they enjoy the most. We've done the expensive all day water parks, but they had more fun at the condo pool. We've taken them out to dinner at a sit-down restaurant, but they enjoyed their dinner from Fishtales (which is more casual). In August it will be hot and peak season. Try someplace that lets you cool down. Try Big Peckers for lunch/dinner and sit outside in the booths that provide the aqua sprayers. Someone mentioned getting the books and magazines from your hotel lobby. These are excellent tools for finding savings - but check out the calendar here for what's happening. There are many free things to do during the summer. Have a great time!

My family goes every year for Fireman's Convention which is normally the 2nd or 3rd week in June. The weather is normally great, always a chance of rain, but passes quickly. Bring plenty of sunscreen! Have a great time!
