My family goes every year for Fireman's Convention which is normally the 2nd or 3rd week in June. The weather is normally great, always a chance of rain, but passes quickly. Bring plenty of sunscreen! Have a great time!

August is the best time to travel to ocean city- temps are generally in the 80's and water temps hit 70's.

I am tossing back and forth staying on the boards or off the boards for this years vacation. We have never been to town with a child and this year are bringing my sister and 2.5 year old nephew and our 13 month old son. Our trip is August 23-30. My concern with on the boards is the crowded beaches and the noise level at night. My Concerns for staying off the boards is having to drive everywhere. We usually come to town and park the car and take the bus everywhere but with the little ones you have so much more to carry. And since we have never really drove much in town I have no idea what it cost to park at the inlet. Can you give me advice on where to stay or prices for parking or stories of children and the bus. Thank you

In years past, we had stayed in the 100's, but we to didn't like the drive. We decided to try the Holiday Inn on 17th street(on the boards) and have stayed there every since. You are close to everything and don't even have to move your car if you chose not to. By the last week of August, the kids are back to school and the crowd dies down. Try asking the hotel for a room higher up, you can barely hear the noise. If it's your first time on the boards , I would suggest you don't stay in the single diget street numbers- you have more of the younger crowd there.

Friends of ours are going to Ocean City the week of October 14th. My family usually goes every summer. She had asked me what was open and what was closed during her visit. I was not sure. Are all restaurants open (i.e. Phillips Crab House)? Is Salty Dog Saloon open? Are all the shops on the boardwalk still open? Are bike rentals still open? What is closed that would normally be open in the summer months If you could answer these questions, I would be very appreciative. thanks, maura thomas

Check with the hotel your staying- they may be able to tell you what is open near your hotel.

Most hotels only offer one parking spot- some of the Condo's located in the 100's may give you 2 spots. Try street parking, you may not have any other chose.

Are there lots of stores and attractions right on the beach or do you have to drive to them? We like to just walk to the beach and to the stores and attractions from our hotel room.

There is stuff to do everywhere you look! Coastal Highway is covered with restaurants, souvenir shops, and mini golf courses. No matter where you stay, you will have some attractions within walking distance. Staying in different areas and in different hotels/condos has allowed me to discover places I never would have otherwise! The boardwalk is the best condensed area to see and do everything---eat, ride the rides, play games, shop, etc. You can walk or ride the tram up and down the boardwalk.

Is it too cold to lay out on the beach right now (April)??

It is past April....but, it depends on how many layers of clothes you have on at the beach. Never too cold for me. I have dug a nice little hole for me to lay in before to keep warmer.
