Our family loves waves for bodysurfing as well as surfing. We are planning our trip for August. Never been there and would like to know if waves are present. If surfing is an option are there any shops that provide rental boards? Thanks

Oh yes. There is surfing and body surfing galore in OC.
These surf shops should be able to help you do what you're interested in:
Chauncey's Surf Shop on 28th St. and 54th St.  www.chaunceyssurfshop.com
Malibu's Surf Shop  8th St. on the boardwalk  www.malibus.com
K-Coast Surf Shop on 35th St.  www.kcoast.com

Another place to check out is Sommers Surf Lessons for Women.  Check out their website at www.sommerssurf.com

There are specific beaches for surfing, so you'll have to check with the shop as to which beach is open on which days and times.
Have a great time!

Lots of things will be open. Unless the weather is totally terrible, Thrashers, Fisher's, and all of the most popular places will be open for business.  Jolly Roger pier rides are scheduled to be open that weekend as well, and the indoor arcades.  Don't forget, you can still mini golf, ice skate at the Carousel Hotel, play laser tag at Planet Maze, and Baja Amusements in West OC should be open then as well for go karts! Plenty to do. And you will also find that Ocean City has churches for most affiliations for Easter Sunday service, along with a sunrise service on the beach.

My boyfriend and I are planning to uproot from York, Pennsylvania and move to Berlin/Ocean Pines in about a year or so. Trying to plan ahead, does anyone have suggestions for best property listing websites, best places to look for jobs, banks, doctors offices, veterinarians, ect... Any websites or information provided would be a great help. Thank you!

Information about living in Ocean City can be found at www.oceancitymd.gov . You'll find all of the ordinances, where to look for work, etc under "live".
As for property websites, check Holiday Real Estate www.holidayoc.com or Coldwell Banker  www.cbvactions.com  or google search Ocean City real estate.

OC has a job fair on March 17 at the Convention Center from 9a-2p. I would highly recommend coming down and checking it out but get there early! There are businesses from all types of industries there but positions do fill up quickly.

I have spent my summers living and working in Ocean City and it has definitely been the time of my life...best of luck to you!

The boardwalk never officially closes.  Many bars like the Purple Moose are open year round.

The weather in October is cool, anywhere from 50's to low 70's occasionally. The rides are closed, but you'll still find shops and bars open, and places like Thrashers and Fisher's Popcorn will be open on weekends. There are plenty of events in October as well. www.ococean.com/events

How far is the 95 st dog park from the ocean?  Is it within walking distance I'm looking for a vacation rental near both.

It's very much within walking distance.  It's only about 3 blocks.  But you will have to cross Coastal Highway so make sure your pooch isn't afraid of cars and on a tight leash.
More info about the dog park here: http://oceancitymd.gov/Recreation_and_Parks/dogplayground.html

Just be sure to remember that dogs are not permitted on the beach or boardwalk from May 1 to October 1.
Enjoy your time in OC with your pup.
