You can park at the lot on the south end of town near the inlet. There is a $2.50 per hour fee for this lot. You canalso park in the West OC Park and Ride lot (go right at the traffic light just pst the Royal Farms when headed into OC on Route 50) and park for free and take the shuttle bus to the beach for $1 per person.

If you go north of about 15th Street you can park on the side streets (any numbered streets, just look at the signs in case there is a restriction on that particular street) for free. There is often parking on side streets. You can park there all day.

We live in Warrington, PA. Our wedding is in Aug. 11, 2012. We need to know how long it would take to drive from home to Ocean City Maryland. We will stay 3 to 4 days.

It should take you about 3.5 hours to get to OC. If you arrive on a Saturday afternoon add another hour or two to allow for beach traffic.

I plan to visit OC in July or August with my hubby and 21-22 month old son. We're not sure if we should choose the bay side or ocean front. We want 2 bedrooms, a pool, near the boardwalk, and very close to the beach. Any suggestions?

If you want to be very close to the beach you want ocean front, but in most places everything is within a 5 minute walk to the beach. If you want 2 bedrooms I'd suggest renting a condo. Your best bet is to work with a realtor to pick out a unit that meets you needs and budget. I recommend starting with their websites to narrow your choices, and then working with an agent to finalize your selection. Two realtors I've used recently and been very happy with are:

Coldwell Banker:  800.633.1000 http://www.cbvacations.com/
Shoreline Properties: 800.492.5832  http://www.shorepro.com/

Have a great time in OC!

My grandmother back in the late 50's and early 60's had a apartment 2 story at the draw bridge. Going in to OC. I would love to see pics of it. That is correct I believe. My Mom spent all her summers on the boardwalk at OC. She grew up in Salisbury. Any pictures or mention of the old drawbridge would be greatly apprecitated. Mom has been gone 11 years now.

If she was there in the early 1950s and 1960s you are talking of the Harry Kelley Memorial Bridge which carries Route 50 into town. This bridge opened in 1942, replacing the causeway bridge that was a couple of blocks to the south. It was renamed after Mayor Harry Kelley shortly after his death in 1985. The prior bridge was opened in 1919 and damaged in the 1933 storm, but repaired and used until the current Route 50 bridge opened, after which it was removed.

Here are a few pictures of the bridge:

Hi, a newbie to OC. My family is renting one of the townhouses at Sunset Island for a week, but we have more cars than the house can accomodate. Any thoughts as to street parking in the area or if anything a place I can park overnight for a few days? Any/all suggestions appreciated!

I have a place on Sunset Island so I am very familiar with what you are discussing. You have several options that will work.

First, talk to the people you are renting from, they may be able to get you an extra parking pass. Second, when you check in with the guard ask for an extra pass, you can get one to park in the clam shells, at least for the day.

There is almost always some parking along 67th Street on the way into Sunset Island. You should be able to park there or on one of the nearby side streets (68th and 69th Streets also usually have available of parking) with no problem. I have left my car on these side streets for days at a time with no issue.

Don't park in the parking lots for the World Gym or the Marina, they will occasionally tow. Also, do not park on SI (except maybe in the TH driveway) without a permit. They will often tow, especially on busy weekends.

SI is a great place to stay with lots of great amenities. I hope you enjoy it!

I am specifically looking to rent a recumbent bike with the easiest access to the boardwalk as I am handicapped. Any suggestions?

Several places rent low rider recumbent bikes, however, many of these are "low riders" and may no be suited for your needs. I know that at least at Bill's Bikes and Wobbly Wheels offer them.

Here is a list of bike rental places in town. You can call them to see if they have the type of recumbent bike you are looking for:

I am visiting Ocean City in August from Pennsylvania and I was wondering how much it would cost me for a visitors fishing license to fish the inlet and ocean. Thank you.

You will need a saltwater fishing license. It is good for the coastal bays, inlet, and ocean. The cost is $22.50 for the season or $12 for 7 days. You can get more information HERE.  You can order your license online HERE.

Oyster Bay Tackle is a great source of fishing information and gear in Ocean City. The also have some good information on fishing licenses here. They also sell fishing licenses or you can buy them online.

I am planning a trip to Ocean City, MD this summer. I own a jet ski and would love to bring it down with me during my stay. My questions are, how friendly is the city to bring in jet skis? Are there boat ramps for public use (pay per use or free)? Is there any place that will store it for me for a couple of days or will I have to risk leaving it at my hotel? Note: this will be my second trip down to Ocean City, MD. During my first time down there, I rented a jet ski (had never been on one before) and loved it. When I got back to New York, I bought one...

The city is friendly for using jet skis, but less freindly for parking them. Here is a list of boat ramps in or near OC (I belive they are all free):
- Assateague Island Park, Rt. 611 at Assateague Island Bridge
- Gum Point Road off Rt. 589, West Ocean City
- OC Commercial Harbor, 12806 Sunset Ave., West Ocean City (rebuilt last summer)
- Little Salisbury Boat Ramp on 87th Street in OC (8am to 6pm - very limited parking)
- At South Point at the South End of South Point Road (south of the Assateague bridge)

You cannot park your trailer on a public street or in most public parking lots. Check with where you are staying to see if you can park in their lot. There is trailer parking available for trailers at the 100th Street Parking lot for $10 a day.

You can check with some of the marinas and see if they will store it for you or rent you a space for the week. I believe Advanced Marine (866.577.3449) on 67th Street offers this service.
