Free parking would be street parking and that would be bayside which can be 3 to 4 blocks depending where you park.
The best spot to enjoy the boardwalk where there is rides, games and food is near the inlet area, about 5th st and under.
Just about every place is kid friendly to eat in Ocean City but a few my kids love are
Dough Roller
Fish Tales
Dead Freddies
(the last two have play areas is why)

I would pay to park at the inlet parking area so you can walk to the main part of the boardwalk and it will be easier on your legs.

Have fun

How would I get to Ocean City by 28th street from the OC Greyhound station?

You will have to take the shuttle bus from the Park and Ride center into Ocean City. From there you can either take a taxi or the public bus which runs all day and night for $1.00 per ride, or $3.00 for a ride all day pass.

I've only been to OC once! What is a good time to arrive to Ocean City for a group of about ten people?! About what time does the beach begin to fill up?! What part of the beach is closer to a few attractions?! We are taking a day trip for a friends 25th birthday.

If I had one day, here is what I would do: get to the beach by 10 am; go to lunch from 12 to 1 pm (you can generally leave your stuff on the beach and no one will take anything, but take all your valuables and keys); back to the beach until 5 pm; shower at a public shower station, throw on a pair of shorts and shirt and go to dinner at Seacrets; get back on the road by 9 pm to drive home.

We are driving in from Ohio. The trip is roughly 9 hours. Do you thin 4 days (driving in Friday, staying 2 full days Sat and Sun and driving home Monday) is enough time?

I live in Pittsburgh which is about 7 hours and have driven to OC many times just for the weekend!  The best thing to do if you can, is leave Thursday evening (11pm or midnight)and drive all night. You'll miss a lot of traffic(Bay Bridge traffic is horrible on Fridays, traffic also gets backed up once you get to OC around 10am) then you can take a nap on the beach once you get there. It also won't hurt to ask your hotel for an early check-in. I like to leave at midnight, get to OC around 7, have breakfast then relax on the beach until I can check in.

Either way, you'll have a great time in OC. You won't be able to experience everything but, the biggest attraction is the boardwalk. It's only 3 miles so you can spend an afternoon or evening checking out all the cool shops and tasting the awesome food! Thrashers French Fries are one of the most popular snacks on the boardwalk, along with Dumsers ice cream and Wockenfuss candies.

Hi I have never been to OC Maryland, so this will be my first time visiting. I have a husband and three children that I am travelling with...my middle son has autism and I was wondering if OC Maryland would be too stimulating??? I am a little scared to travel with him. What do you think??? I really want to go on a vacation this year but I'm a little scared?

Ocean City can be a source of lots of stimulation, or just a little bit depending on what you do. If you want to limit stimulation I'd avoid the boardwalk after 6pm. The beach is no more or less stimulating than any other beach, so it is generally very relaxing.

If you want to enjoy some fun activities, but avoid the stimulation, noise, and crowds, here are some ideas:

Go to the boardwalk between noon and 3pm. All of the businesses will be open, but the bicycles will be gone and the evening crowds will not have arrived. To be particularly low key, stick to the streets north of 2nd Street. There are fewer businesses here and smaller crowds.

If you want to Mini Golf, go  first thing in the morning. We go then and there are few crowds.

Take a trip to Assateague. The Visitor's Center is nice and is generally not too crowed. They have a touch tank and other exhibits kids like. You can also drive across to Assateague Island and look for ponies. You can drove a couple of miles to the entrance station to the National Seashore without paying the entrance fee.

Visit Northside Park or one of OC's other public parks. They are generally not too crowded (unless there is an event going on at Northside Park) and are great parks. Many have playgrounds that kids love.

Go crabbing or fishing from either a commercial pier or park. Northside Park has a pier, so does the Isle of Wight recreation area. On public piers you need a license to fish, but not to crab, but your kids do not. On commercial piers you do not need a license.

For meals either do takeout (most places do offer takeout) or go early before the crowds get there. Mot places don't get busy until after 5pm.

I think you will be fine visiting OC and don't need to be scared. Just stay away from the south end of town after 6pm, and you can really limit the amount of stimulation your son will be exposed to.

Have a great vacation!

The best idea is go to either

www.ocean-city.com
www.oceancity.com
www.hotels.com

Punch in your dates and see whats available first, then we can go from there to see what interest you and will fit your budget.

You could also go through www.cbvactions.com for a condo and prepare your owns meals to save some cash. Condos are equip with pots and pans, silverware and so on so its like home.
Good Luck.

Does Mike's Bikes still rent wheelchairs? We are going to be in town and might need one for my mother. Any ideas if they still rent them and prices or if I need to reserve in advance. Thanks

Mike's Bikes is no longer in business. However, you can rent wheelchairs from these places. I'd call ahead to reserve one.

PMI rentals at 126th Street may have electric wheel chairs or scooter. They will deliver anywhere near OC. You can call them at 800.320.7469 or 410.250.1251.

I believe you can rent also them from EC Glider Segways on Somerset street. The store is right off the boardwalk on the north side of Somerset Street. I know they rent Rascal electric scooters, but I'm not sure about non motorized wheelchairs. You can reach them at 410.430.7181 or ecglider1@mac.com

Have a great tip to OC.

There are no private resorts in OC, but there are lots of hotels with great amenities that will keep you entertained all day and all night long. Below are a few suggestions. They are all oacen front properties (although not all of thier rooms may be ocean front) and are listed from the south end of town headed north.

Courtyard by Marriott at 15th Street is ocean front on the boardwalk. New property built about 3 years ago with lots of amenities including ocean front and ocean view rooms with small balconies and an indoor pool. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sbyoc-courtyard-ocean-city-oceanfront/.

Holiday Inn Suites at 17th Street is right on the boardwalk. Many rooms are ocean front with balconies. The hotel has lots of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools. http://www.ocsuites.com/

Hilton Suites on 32nd Street is one of OC's newest and most luxurious hotels. It was built just a few years ago and is a very nice property with lots of amenities including 3 pools, fitness center, game room, and business center. http://www.oceancityhilton.com/

The Castle in the Sand at 37th street is a great midtown location. The hotel is ocean front, but they have several building and all types of rooms. They have lots of amenities including an outdoor pool. http://www.castleinthesand.com/home.php

Holiday Inn Ocean Front at 67th Street is a great ocean front property with a large pool and lots of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools and tennis courts. My family as stayed there many times. http://www.holidayinnoceanfront.com/

Princess Royal at 94th Street. I stayed here last spring. It is very nice and has lots of amenities.: http://www.princessroyale.com/

Clarion Resort Hotel at 101st Street. I stayed here last fall. It is very nice with lots of amenities including a pool beach side food, and a large conference area. http://www.clarionoc.com/

Carousel Hotel at 118th Street. I stayed here in April. It is an excellent palce also with lots of amenities including a spa,  pool, oceanview restaurant, ice skating rink, and fitness center. http://www.carouselhotel.com/
