Hi - can you give me some suggestion about places to park on a morning near the beach? We want to watch the airshow but are staying up at 100th so we want to park for about 5 hours and set up on the beach. Thanks!!

I'd suggest getting to the south end of town early and parking on a side street near 20th Street and then eating breakfast before going to the beach. The Sahara Cafe and Pirate's Galley are both in this area and are great breakfast options. The center of the airshow is at 16th Street (some areas of the beach are reserved for ticket holders in this area) and there are no municiple parking lots in that area of town, but there is lots of street parking. If you are early (before 8:30) you should get a spot fairly easily, and parking in tis section of town is free so in most spots you can park all day. You should be able to see the airshow great from anywhere at least as far noth as 30th Street. Another option is parking at the Convention Center at 40th Street and going to the beach there, you will still likely have a great view, but not as good as if you were a little further south.

The show starts at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

If you are not taking lots of beach equipment to setup, the bus is a great option too.

Enjoy the air show!

Our daughter will be attending college at Salisbury U. in the Fall. We are from NYC and have never been to Ocean City. Since it is not far from the school, we thought we would check it out since it may be a nice place to go for a few days before or after dropping her off/picking her up during the next 4 years. It would be my husband and and perhaps our 15 yr son and sometimes our daughter as well. We like nice restaurants and upper scale hotels. I have heard the North end would be best. What's your opinion?

In the north end of town there is the Clarion on 101 St.  Two other hotels you may want to consider are the Hilton on 32nd St or the Edge on bay side.  The websites can be found below.

OC is a vintage town, part of the charm is that many of the buildings have been around for years and many businesses are family operated/owned.  Some of the more upscale restaurants are Reflections, Fager's Island, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse,  and the Hobbit.

Is there a bus service that go through Ocean City? I need to get from OCMD to an airport, either Dulles or BWI. Is this possible to do?

Greyhound services Ocean City. They leave from the West OC park and ride lot and go to New Carrollton, MD. From New Carrollton you can take the MARC Train to BWI or take a combination of the Metro Orange Line and a taxi to get to Dulles. For more information on Greyhound times call 800.231.2222 or go to https://www.greyhound.com/farefinder/step1.aspx . There is one bus a day from OC to New Carrollton that leaves OC at11:05am and arrives in New Carrollton at4:50pm. It costs between $40 and $60 depending how far in advance you reserve a seat and the options you select.

Another option is the Bay Runner Shuttle which runs from OC to BWI. It is about $100 and runs frequently.  More information on Bay Runner Shuttles can be found at http://www.bayrunners.com/

You can also fly from Salisbury airport to a few airports. They used to fly to BWI and Philadelphia from Salisbury.

As Darlene said, the Play It Safe website is your best resource. It is also worth reviewing this article on the risks and dangers of beach week when kids fail to use common sense.

You can get a free bus pass by attending Play it Safe events. More information can be found here. If you don't have a free pass you can ride the bus for $1 a ride or $3 a day.
