Which oceanfront properties have handicapped facilities for mobility issues? Is there a beach to accommodate wheelchairs?

Please keep in mind that only a sand or beach wheelchair can navigate on the beach itself.  A regular wheelchair will sink in the sand.  As the other Insiders have stated, Ocean City does allow you to borrow sand wheelchairs.  They are very heavy and will not fit in a closed vehicle; so a pick-up truck or trailer is required.

Hi I'm looking to work there this summer. When does the work season usually start? Would it be possible to move down there the end of March and start working?

For your age children, try Thunder Lagoon water park.  They will love it.  It is geared for kids under 8 years old.

In May the average water temperatures are in the mid to upper 50s. Cooler at the beginning of the month, around 60 at the end of the month. Still a bit too cold for me!

My brothers an I often go to Seacrets after a round. It is a great place to just hang out, even if it is still a bit cool out. Some other suggestions:

Harborside at the West OC harbor for a casual experience and some great food, original Orange Crushes, and is close to many of the courses.

Fish Tales
at 22nd Street on the bay is a great place to hangout, relax, and have some great drinks and food. They are open for St PAtricks Day weekend, but then closed until 10 April.

45th Street Tap House - If you want a casual atmosphere that is probably not too crowded with lots of different beers on tap.

Purple Moose on the boardwalk at Talbot Street - Great if you want some live music.

Hope you have a great round or two in OC!

Shore Transit Route 451 runs between Ocean City (from the West OC Park and Ride lot bus station) and several other West OC locations to Salisbury and back. You can get more information about Route 451 and its schedule and stops here. The bus runs 9 times a day 7 days a week.

Unfortunately, after over 75 years in business on the boardwalk, Edwards has closed. You can read more about the closure here. There was a discussion of opening a small version of Edwards on the 2nd Street, but I am not sure if that happened or not.

What is the best area of the boardwalk to stay with a 6-year old daughter for a weeks vacation?

If you plan on spending your days on the boardwalk at the rides and amusements, then anywhere from the inlet to about 5th St. will be where you want to be. Beyond that it is a long walk for a 6 year old.
However, if you don't want to be involved with all the activity day and night, then anywhere in OC will suit.
I suggest the Dunes Motel or the Dunes Manor Hotel at the end of the boardwalk on 28th and 29th Streets. From either of these places, you can hop onto the boardwalk tram and ride down to the rides, etc, then get back on and ride back to your hotel. Keep in mind that the tram only runs in the summer, the same with the rides. So if you're planning on an early spring or fall vacation, then you'll have to drive. Both hotels are ocean front and very convenient. You would also be within walking distance of Jolly Roger Amusement Park and Water Park, also only open in the summer.
