Hi there! I will be coming to OC the second week in August! Coming down with the family and wanted to play some golf. Is there any way to find other golfers to play with when I get there?

Your best bet is to call the courses where you want to play. They may be able to link you up with some other players who are looking to put together a foursome. You can get a list of OC golf courses with links to there webpages and phone numbers here.

Have fun in OC!

I am looking for an oil painting store that is on the boardwalk. It's not the park place one and it's not the ocean gallery. If you are facing the Ocean Gallery from the boardwalk side, it is to the right of the that just down a little bit...do you know which one I am talking about and if so , can I have their contact info...I would like to buy a painting I saw there...thanks

One final question (I promise) ! What street number does the boardwalk begin and where does it end? Is there a better side for families?

Ask as may questions as you want, that's what we are here for.
Link of boardwalk history  http://www.ocboards.com/history.htm
The boardwalk starts at the inlet Village (S 2nd st) and runs 2. 5 miles to 27th st.

I would recommend oceanfront or oceanside for families just because of lugging your things to the beach. The shorter the walk with chairs, coolers and kids is better in the long run. Plus if you can limit street crossing is a very good idea with young ones.

Have Fun and if anything else please ask.

There are several places in OC with free WiFi access. There is free WiFi available at Somerset Street (on the plaza near the boardwalk) and Northside Park (127th Street along the bay) . You can get information related how to use these two WiFi hotspots at: http://oceancitymd.gov/wifi.html#1.

There is free WiFi available at the Ocean City Public Library at 101st Street. They also have computers available for public access.

McDonald's at 32nd and 123rd Streets also offer WiFi.

One site that has some package deals that would be a great starting place is:  http://beach-wedding.com/

Another site to check out:  http://www.beachweddingvenue.com/oceancityweddingvenues.html

A few ideas based on my experience:  I got to witness a wedding from my balcony at the Golden Sands....one of my favorite OC memories even though I had no idea who the lucky couple was.  They offer a banquet room as well as outstanding condos for rent for a destination wedding.

When my husband's grandmother turned 90, we celebrated in OC....the Clarion is wonderful to work with as is Harrison's Haborwatch if you are looking for a group get together as part of the festivities.

Congratulations and happy planning!

Are pets allowed in Ocean City?

The official word from www.ococean.com is as follows:

Pet Parents

Bringing your four-legged friend? It's important to note that animals are only allowed on the beach and boardwalk between October 1 and April 30. Any handler or owner of a dog must remove any waste deposited on public or private property not owned by the handler or owner in possession of said dog. Also, dogs must be kept on a leash when being walked in and around Ocean City.

During peak-season and year-round, a Dog Playground is available at 94th Street and bayside so your pet can let loose and enjoy their time in Ocean City. For more information, contact OC Recreation & Parks at 410-250-0125 or click here.

How much will it cost to take a taxi from Salisbury Airport to Ocean City? Are there any free shuttles which can carry one from the airport to Ocean City?

There is a Bayrunner Shuttle that runs from Salisbury Airport to the West Ocean City Park and Ride. It is not free, but the shuttle from the Park and Ride into Ocean City is free.

Hi Everyone: Back in January I requested some info on accommodations and everyone was so helpful! Thank you for that. We have found a place for the 10 of us but now I have another question. My husband and I are flying in to Salisbury Airport at 9:00 am but we cannot get into the condo until 3:00 pm. The rest of my family are driving down from NY and are not due in until at least 2:00 p.m. Can someone suggest something to do during that time period so my husband doesn't go nuts and are there some sort of shuttles that take travellers around or would a cab be our best bet. Thanks so much - we are soooooo looking forward to spending time in your wonderful city!

Do what we always do, go swimming, have lunch or hit the beach. Hotels or a condos will give you your parking pass so you can park the car and most will take your cell number and call when the room is ready also.

OC is very easy to navigate from place to place, so you could drive around, get a feel of the place, look for spots to eat or stop at a Sunsation to shop for your beach needs.
Also, head up to the boardwalk catch breakfast and take in the views from the boardwalk while its not as busy yet.

If you mean the fireworks on the 4th of July the show starts at 9:30 and runs about 45 minutes to an hour. It is held at 2 locations. At the south end of town the fireworks are set off right near the pier. They can be seen throughout the south end of town, but the best location is on the beach south of about 12th Street. There is also a display of the same duration at the same time at the north end of town at Northside Park over the bay. These are best from the park, but there are still great views from the Delware line to about 110th Street.

There are also fireworks planned for every Tuesday night from 29 May to 28 August at 10pm at North Division Street. The duration has not been announced, but I'd guess about 10 minute shows. More info can be found here.

There will also be laser shows this summer at North Division Street on the beach every Sunday from 27 May 27 to 2 September 2.  Each show is approximately 8 minutes in length beginning at 9:30pm, 10:00pm and 10:30pm. More info can be found here.

All of these events are free! Have a great time in OC this summer!
