Although there is not a track, Northside Park is a beautiful facility that provides a paved path throughout that is suitable for running.  Parking is free and the aura is breathtaking peaceful.  Have a wonderful run.

Are children allowed to wear U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests while swimming at the beach? Where can I find beach regulations?

I have seen children with life vests playing by the water before, but even with life vests those who are not strong swimmers still need adult supervision. Also be sure to check in with the lifeguards and see what kind of surf the ocean is providing that day....there was one year I was there when the lifeguards kept everyone out of the ocean due to strong undertows.   OC town ordinances can be found at the following site:

Do high school kids show up at Northside Park in the summer evenings to play pick-up lacrosse or just throw the ball around.

Interesting people can be found in Northside Park at all times of the day; I am not sure if there is anything organized like that, but it can't hurt to drop by and scope out the scene.

Is it too late to find a job in OC? I have just been presented with the opportunity to live in OC for the summer....but, of course, don't have a job (since this was unexpected). I have 5+ years experience as a bartender/waitress/hostess/banquet server. I have also worked as a camp counselor and receptionist. I don't mind what the job is, I take pride in any kind of work, and am interested in the opportunity more than making money (but am still willing to work as much/often as I am needed). I am very customer service oriented and enthusiastic! But, how do I get my foot in the door somewhere? I live 7 hours away. Is driving there over the weekend to apply a smart idea? Or should I just wait until I arrive in 2 weeks? I would like to secure a job before I actually move...is it uncommon to be hired on the spot anywhere? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I know restaurants are working on hiring for the summer season and there was a job fair in March.  My advice would be to come down over a weekend if you can and devote that time to applying and personally introducing yourself to managers.  You may want to do some research and look into the classifieds such as those found at:  http://mdcoastdispatch.com/ and http://www.delmarvanow.com/

Another idea is to look for jobs in the surrounding areas such as Salisbury and Berlin.

I wish you the best of luck!

Ocean City is technically "on" all year with many festivals and events held over the weekends.  From the middle of May through after Labor Day is when you will see all the businesses open and the largest of crowds.

My favorite time to come is in late Sept. as almost everything is open, the crowds have thinned, the air and water temps are still warm enough to allow me a final dip in the Atlantic, and hotel rates have dropped.

The Boardwalk starts at the inlet and goes to 27th street.  Most of the action occurs below 4th Street.  Some hotels to look into include the following:

Boardwalk One
Breakers
Comfort Inn Boardwalk
Haven Hotel
Hotel Monte Carlo
Lambros & Hampton House Apts.
Majestic Hotel
Park Place Hotel
Plim Plaza
Rideaux Motor Inn
Shoreham Hotel
