Ocean City is still hopping in January!  You can still play Mini Golf at two of the Old Pro Golf locations (Indoors), play arcade games.  I am similar in age to you and I still Play them as well!  Ice Skate at the Carousel.  Dine at some of the nicer area restaurants including Reflections, The Captains Table, Fagers, or Fresco's.   Walk the beach, find sea shells!  (they are more in abundance with lesser crowds)  Visit the Life Saving Museum at the Inlet or the Assateague Visitor Center just before you get to Assateague Island.   Grab an icecream treat from Dumsers, stroll the boardwalk.  Shop, and so much more.  Be sure to grab the local free papers when you arrive to see what else there is to do.

Is a fishing license required if u only want to go crabbing? are there rental areas for crabbing supplies or do we purchase our own?

Fishing licenses are required for anyone over 16.  You can get a short term license from Oyster Bay Tackle on a little bayside shopping center between Jamestown Road and Newport Bay Drive.  (Around 116th ST)  You cant miss it as the Fountainhead and the Carousel hotels are right across the street and the Green Turtle and Pizza Tugos are also in the same shopping center.   besides a fishing license, they offer fishing equipment, bait, and free advice!

You'll be right at the Inlet Parking Lot. You will have to pay to park there. Marty's may have a place for your extra vehicle as well.  Check with them, and check out the city's site for parking info.

It is understood that Ocean City, MD does not allow mobile vending, although only mobile ice cream trucks are allowed. Does Ocean City allow mobile snow cone trucks since that falls under the ice cream category? Thanks.

We are planning a vacation for mid May thru the 1st week of june. Are the boardwalk shops open or is everything still kind of winterized till later in the season. Please advise if this would be a good time to visit with a 3yr old.

I would check with places like the Bonfire, Embers, and Horizon's. The Captain's Table has a banquet room that could accomodate you. As for discounted rates, I suggest you check with the organizers of the event, or call the restaurants directly.

Places like the Bonfire and Embers, the Shark on the Harbor, Captain's Table, Coins, Reflections, BJ's on the Water, Fagers, and many others will all be open. Pick up some of the free newspapers when you get into town to see what their specials are as well.

The boardwalk never closes! And that's a great weekend to start your vacation. You'll be there for Cruisin OC ( www.specialeventpro.com/cruisin.php) . There will be thousands of custom and classic cars in town and shows at the inlet, the Convention Center, and at Hooters every day from Thursday to Sunday. Plus in the morning they parade the cars down the boardwalk to the inlet. And there's an oldies concert at the Convention Center on Saturday night that's always a great time. So all the shops, restaurants, etc will be up and running!
