Where is the beach the most narrow ?

The farther north you go, you will generally find the more narrow beaches, though all areas of the beach in OC tend to be fairly wide.  The sand can get really hot in the summer too, so don't forget those flip flops or water shoes!

Getting from SBY(Salisbury MD airport) to Ocean City? Most economical way. Rental cars in SBY are only on a round trip basis. I am looking for one way. Thanks.

Try the Grand Hotel or the Plim Plaza for nice hotels right on the Boardwalk.

I don't know if you have chosen lodging yet, but the Century I is a great condo in northern OC that offers both bayview and oceanview balconies with each unit.  You can also cook up a dinner in the condo's kitchen, take it on the balcony along with the flameless candle Savas suggested, and have a wonderfully private dinner that way.

Happy anniversary and I think I will have to send a copy of this post to my hubby to give him an idea.  :)

I need to know if Maryland is like Delaware in that you buy a licence for your boat to fish in tidal waters that includes everyone on the boat. I searched online but the web sites are very confusing. If you know a cost or an easy web site that could point me in the right direction that would be terrific.

If the boat owner has a boat fishing license you will not need one.  It covers everyone on the boat.  If not, then each individual will need one.

Hi, Im looking to go to Ocean City the end of Sept 29- Oct 2 are the places on the Boardwalk still open and the bars /clubs open then also?

The boards will be open and so will the beach.  Most shops are still open with their hours a little more relaxed than in prime summer months.  The bars and clubs will still be hopping.  It's a wonderful time to visit.

Hello, Are beach shades or canopies allowed on the Ocean City beach?

Yes they are allowed.  You have to make sure that they will no be blocking the life guards' view of the ocean or stands and that you have them secured in the sand.

There was a place which I remember from last year in OC where you could see what people had found in the surf that turned out to be valuable. I can't find this place but want to go there this year. Can you direct me?

You probably mean the Life Saving Museum or Sea Shell City.

Is there a picnic area on the beach for grilling?

There are no picnic areas or grills on the beach, and no open fires or grills are allowed on the beach without a permit. You can get more information about regulations and permitting here: http://oceancitymd.gov/Fire_Department/FireMarshal/forms/BonfirePermit.pdf. You are also not allowed to grill within about 20 feet of any multi-unit building which means you cannot grill on the balcony of condos or motels.

However, several city parks, including Northside Park, at 127th Street have picnic areas and grills available for free public use. There are also some condos and hotels that have grills and picnic tables on their land behind the dune line available for guests to use. The Windjammer at 46th Street is one such place.
