I need recommendations on somewhere to stay off season this year (Last week/weekend of September). Between 30th-50th for four(+) adults. Two rooms and facing Costal Highway is preferred. Any suggestions?

My favorite place to stay is Dunes Manor. They do a great job and are open year round. They are ocean font and have balconies in every room. If you want to spend less, try either The Spinnaker or The Flamingo. Both are nice places open this time of year that are ocean block and thus a little less expensive.

Have a great time in OC!

It is first come first served.   when i had my jet ski, i would unload it into the bay at 94th st.   There is a small fee to do this.   Tis is in a residentual neighborhood and parking your trailor on thte street is strictly prohibited.

Coming for a day trip w/family who've never seen the Ocean - where is the best place to land for the day. Will have 6-7 kids ages 9-15. Also - pros and cons to bringing my small dog.

Best place to take in everything is at the south end of town. There is plenty of parking in that area and you can get food, visit attractions, and walk the boardwalk. The beach is accessible from anywhere in town, but the beach in this area is very wide, so there is lots of space! There are also open-air rinse off showers along the endge of the parking lot. Note that there are no public facilities (e.g., bathhouses) for changing clothes or taking a shower in OC.

I strongly discourage you from bringing your dog. Dogs are notallowed in the beach or boardwalk at this time of year, so there is really no where for you to put it while you are enjoying the beach.

Have fun in OC!

We are looking for a beach in August. My mom is 72 and want a mix of activity, quiet, relaxation, and fun. How crowded does it get at that time of year? Are the hotel rates on the beach reasonable or expensive? Thanks for your help!

Rose, The short answer is yes, during the month of August, the beach can get very crowded.  Not so much though that you can find a little peace and solace though.  You didn't mention what week or dates you're planning on coming to town, so I can only tell you that you'll find there is a window into a little more discounted rates during the week in mid to late August, however, Labor Day will bring peak rates again.... so do your research.  I would recommend that you check out the Spinnaker Motel on 18th Street and Oceanblock.  www.ocmotels.com/spinnaker

Hello, I always take the bus when I'm on vacation, my question is do the buses run up to 138th st? In case I stay on the higher streets, I want to be able to use the bus still, I just can't remember if it runs that high. Thank you

Can someone please tell me about the memorial plaques at Northside Park? How can I get one, and how much do they cost? Also, is it possible to get a bench at 75th street beach entrance with a memorial plaque? My husband just passed, and was lovingly called "the mayor of 75th street" the family would love to honor him.

My most sincere sympathy for your loss.  Ocean City offers several ways to memorialize a loved one. In addition to the benches and plaques at Northside Park, you could also have a bench on the boardwalk, a brick placed at the Firefighter's Memorial on the boardwalk, or you could also place a leaf on the Reflections of Life Tree at the Convention Center on 40th St.  You could also place a memorial reef in his memory in the ocean.

Here are links for each of the things I mentioned.

I am planning a vacation to OC in August and am wondering which day of the week would be good to arrive? Are Friday-Sunday's very heavy traffic days?

Sunday's in the mornings are heavy traffic days. If you arrive Sunday afternoon/evening it's the best time. Friday and Saturdays are the heaviest.

How far do the busses go up the Coastal Highway? I am thinking of booking at a resort on 94th street and I want to know if the bus service runs up that far, and also how late it runs. Does it go from the boardwalk up to 94th street or further? Thanks!

Yes, you can rent electric wheelchars from Boardwalk Segways (410.289.1203) which is just about 3 blocks away on Somerset Street. PMI Rentals (410.250.1251)  also rents them. PMI is at 130th Street, but they will deliver to the Plim Plaza.
