Hi Theresa.  You need to contact the Department of Public Works in OC.  The cost for the benches is $1700.00 and includes the plaque.

If that's too far out of your budget, you could consider placing a brick on the boardwalk at the Fireman's Memorial.  The cost is only $100.00.

And another option is to have your loved one's name placed on the Reflection Tree inside the Convention Center on 40th St.  Prices for these are from $250 to $500.00, but twice a year they are on sale for half price.

I'm looking to apply for a waitress position, but I can't find where I can apply on-line or anything. Should I drive to oc and go talk to someone? The place I'm looking for is closed right now though.

I know that Rosenfelds Jewish Deli and the Sky Bar/Galaxy 66 are holding job fairs this weekend (2/14-16). If you are not able to come into town here is more info about both businesses. I suggest you contact them soon to find out if they wil consider an on-line application or a phone interview. Good luck!

Hello, My Wife will be celebrating a certain milestone birthday while on vacation in OC this July. I've seen the boats hug the shore line that flash messages to the beach crowd such as happy birthday & happy anniversary. They advertise events & restaurants too. Where can I go to get more information on beach surf grams? Thank you

I'm looking to come to OC in the middle of May. Is the boardwalk open? If so, what's there to do then?

Cathy,

The middle of May is a great time to come to OC. Almost all places on the boardwalk are open as are moist of the paces except some of the large amusement parks during the week. I highly recommend coming for Cruise Weekend on 15-18 May. This event brings thousands of classic cars into town, and even if you are not a car person, it is great fun. There are lots of other great events in OC all year round. You can see a list of them here.

Some other fun things to do include taking a kayak tour, playing golf or mini golf, checking out Assateague, or enjoying some great OC restaurants and bars.

Here are some pictures from past years' Cruise Weekends:

Crazy question, We will be traveling to OC in a Jeep, last year we had the top off, it was way too hot. This year I'm thinking if I could find a storage unit we could rent for a week we would travel there with it on and take off after arrival. Any suggestions ? Thanks.

Chris, as a fellow Jeep Wrangler owner, let me offer my fenced in back yard to store your top.  We keep our Jeep in OC and love having the top down in the summer.  Just sned in a question to the Insiders before you come and I will give you the address.  Keep Jeepin'!

I am planning a bachelorette party for the end of June. What hotels are located withing close walking distance of the boardwalk and nightlife? We do not want to have to drive anywhere once we have arrived.

I recommend you stay at the Quality Inn and Suites on 33rd St.  You'll be able to walk to the end of the boardwalk where you can ride the tram to the far end where the rides, shops, and some bars and restaurants are.  You can walk to Jolly Roger Park to spend a day riding rides or at the water park, and you can also walk to Seacrets for some good partying!  There are plenty of other great restaurants and bars close to this hotel as well. Plus you're nearly midtown so it 's an easy drive to anything else you want to do in OC.

Hi guys, my name is Bojan and I am from Europe. First, I would like to apologize for my english, I know it's not so great (I did not practice it for a while) :-) , but I hope you will understand what I want to say :-D I am considering the option (job offer) to come to Ocean City for summer as a work & travel student and I just wanted to ask you guys a few basic questions like: how many tourists during the season, what are the chances of finding second job, would you recomend me this place as a teenager (considering the pay&tips); what about life expenses and housing cost - are they affordable? In our job offers, they offer us a housing place w/ 100$ per week, is that ok - or can I find someting maybe little better than that (of course I am not looking for a hotel room or someting like that, just a basic accomodation & life conditions) Of course, I would like to know something about activities, places to go out, see stuff, places and monuments :-) Excuse me for bothering you, I just need to collect all the info I can get before the trip, I am in a great dilemma and I was hoping you can help ;-) Thank you all very much :-)

Tom,

I will be there that same week. I have often been there that time of year, and it is really hard to predict what will be open as most places have no fixed schedules at that time of year. When the weather is nice, about half of the boardwalk shops will be open during the week. More will be open on weekends. The rides are not open, but sometimes the indoor kiddie rides are open on weekends during the day. Marty's Playland and other arcades are open, as are attractions like Planet Maze (laser tag), Mini Golf, and Baja Amusments (go carts) at least on weekends. We've always found plenty to do at that time of year. Here are a few other suggestions:

If the weather is nice, it is a great time of year to rent bikes and ride along the boardwalk.

Play indoor mini golf at one of the two Old Pro Indoor Courses. They are open everyday. If the weather is nice you can play the outdoor courses too.

Ride Go Carts - on nice days Baja Amusements in West OC often has a few tracks open

Take an Old Time Photo with the group - there are a few locations around town, listed on their website.

Go Ice Skating  at the Carousel.

Go bowling at 72nd Street Ocean Lanes. Call ahead to check for lane availability (410.524.7550) and be aware, they take cash only. For younger kids, they have lighter weight balls and bumpers for the lanes.

Go to the Salisbury Zoo - It is about 30 miles away. It is a nice community zoo, and it is FREE!

Visit Assateague. Be sure to stop at the Visitor's Center that has lots of interactive displays and some short movies.

Have a great time in OC this April!

Areany of the stores or golf courses open now til March?

There are plenty of stores open in Ocean City. The Tanger Outlets in West OC is open, along with the Gold Coast Mall and lots of smaller shops all over town.  You'll find some things open on the boardwalk as well. Thrasher's Fries and Fisher's Popcorn are open weekends till 3 if the weather is decent.

As for the golf courses, I just spoke with Jennifer from Pam's Golf Getaways and she said that ALL of the golf courses are open year round weather permitting.  So you will have no problem getting in a few rounds.  And there are some really good rates and specials running right now too. You can give her a call at 800-472-6722 and check out their website at www.pamsgolfoc.com

And be sure to order the 2014 Ocean City Visitor Guide at www.ococean.com/vacation-guide

Have fun!!
