Is there a book of businesses and shops in Ocean City? If so, is it available for purchase, or where can I find it? Thanks!

Hey Ronda, i'm not sure if there is a book for sale however, you can check out the Greater Ocean City Chamber of Commerce. Here's the website: http://chamber.oceancity.org/list with the business directory. You should be able to find what you're looking for there.

I'm looking for trivia in Ocean City -- particularly on Thursdays. Recommendations welcome. Thanks, Insiders!

On Monday nights Hooked (410.723.4665) at 80th Street does a trivia night (with Monday night football). It looks like The Cove at Mumford's Landing in Ocean Pines (the former Yacht club) also hold trivia on Monday nights. Call them to see if it is going on the day you want to go, 410.641.7501

In-season, Macky's sometimes holds periodic trivia nights.

There are tons of web cams in Ocean City. Some can be controlled, some cannot. Here are some good ones to see the ocean:

Castle in the Sand at 37th Street has a couple of web cams, one is pointed directly at the ocean

The Spinnaker at 18th Street has a cam with a great beach and ocean view

Princess Royale at 91st Street has a good cam with a view of the beach and ocean

The Grand Hotel at 21st Street has a cam with a great view of the beach, boardwalk, and ocean

OC Lifesaving Station cam - See the ocean at the inlet

Park Place webcam - Shows the boardwalk mostly, but you can see the beach and ocean too

Howard Johnson web cam on 12th Street overlooks the beach and ocean

The Harrison group has several good cams around town. You can control some of them

This site has links to many more cameras around town.

I'm planning a small wedding of about 15 people -- far below the normal amount of 50 required for most recommended venues. If we do a wedding on the beach, are there any places with handicap access? Are there any restaurants that you recommend will take a reservation for a wedding party of this size? Thanks!

Many of these questions depend on when you are planning to do your wedding, but the answer to everything is that yes, these things are available.

For handicap beach access I'd recommend doing the ceremony in the area near the pier at the south end of town. There are walkways that extend about half way out on the beach that would accommodate wheelchairs. As another alternative, you could get access to a beach wheelchair. See this thread for more info on them.

Several restaurants can also help you. Many have small rooms or private areas. Here are a few I suggest contacting: Longboard Cafe (67th Street), Harrison's Harbor Watch (at the inlet), and Harpoon Hanna's (Route 54). All handle larger parties or have private areas that could accommodate you.

In regards to the Wine Festival, how many wineries will be in attendance, and what are the limitations on amount of tastings. Any additional information is greatly appreciated!

I went to Winefest for many years, but have not been able to make it for the last few years. My experience was that there were about 40 wineries from all over the country (see a partial list here) and that you really got an unlimited number of tastings. While you get 5 or 10 tasting tickets on entry, I can never remember being asked to turn one in. Most tastings are free (included in the price of the admission ticket), but some wineries have a small fee for tasting some of their higher-end products.

As mentioned, The Sandbar is the classic place for Karaoke in OC.  One of my favorite things is seeing people come back year after year during the same week in OC and sing year after year!

Enjoy!

Why don't the trams run the whole month of September instead of just the weekend?

When the trams run is based on demand. The boardwalk trams do not run the whole month of September and are now done running until next spring because there are not enough riders to make it cost-effective to run the trams. I note that in the past few years OC has expanded the number of days when the tram runs in May and September.

You can still rent equipment from PMI Rentals at 126th Street. However, will need to take it to and from the beach yourself and do your own setup.

Most of the rental stands on the beach closed Sunday 24 September, the last day the guards were on duty. The boxes close and are removed in the days after the guards go off duty, so generally you cannot reliably rent beach equipment from the beach boxes the last week in September. However, if there is still a box in area where you are located, if you call the  number on the side, they may send someone out to rent equipment to you.

The Beach Bus runs the length of Ocean City with stops every few blocks along Coastal Highway. It costs $3/day per person to ride all day (days start and end at 6am). Buses run about every 15 minutes until the winter schedule starts in early November, when they will run about every 40 minutes. Find out more, and access a map of bus stops here.

If you are asking about the Boardwalk Tram, it is done for the season. However, when it is running, it costs $3 for a one way ride down the boardwalk. Find out more about the boardwalk tram here.
