What are some places to go flip-flop shopping in OC? I'm looking for a specific brand, and will plan to call around to see if individual stores carry it. Thanks!

Here are a few places to try that have lots of more specialized (nicer) vice mass-market (cheap) flip-flops:

Malibu's on the boardwalk at 8th Street - 410.289.3000

K-Coast at 35th and 78th Streets - 410.289.8500

Summer House Trading at 67th Street - 410.524.1098

Sea Quest at 76th Street - 410.524.0076

South Moon Under at 80th Street - 410.524.4567

I understand that a license is not needed to fish at Northside Park. What type of fish can be caught there? Is it bay fishing or pond fishing?

It is bay fishing at Northside Park. Mostly it is small fish like black bass and spot and occasionally croaker. Flounder are not a usual fish caught there. If you are looking to catch your dinner I suggest you check out the other no license required area in OC--the bulkhead on the bay between 2nd and 4th Sts. Deep water and a fast moving current make this a good spot for flounder, blue fish, rock and croaker. You will often see the head boats in this area also known as the east channel. Good luck!

Are there any motorized vehicles available for rent on the boardwalk? I have two young children who may not be able to walk the entire length of the boardwalk. Any advice is appreciated!

When my children were small we would park around 2nd or 3rd St and walk south. Most of the things that kids enjoy, amusement rides, arcades, games are at the southern end of the boardwalk anyway. When they were ready to go it was only a few block walk back to the car. We also brought a wagon. Older kids like that more that a stroller. Have fun!

Do you need a license to go clamming in Ocean City?

No license is needed. Clams need to be 1 inch across though to keep. If you do not have a boat you can clam in the shallow area behind the Convention Center on 40th St. By boat, one of the best spots is the sand bar just off of Fish Tales at 21st St and the shallows in the bay behind Assateague Island across from Castaways Campground.

Is there a Greyhound bus terminal in OC? If so, where?

The Greyhound Station is about 1/2 mile west of OC on Route at the West OC Park and Ride lot. You cna take a shuttle from there to OC for just $3 and that fare allows you to transfer to a city bus to get anywhere in OC>

I'm interested in any information regarding weddings and renewing vows on the beach. Are there specific steps we must take in order to hold what we expect to be a small ceremony?

Checkout this page for a good overview holding a wedding in OC.

If want to use the beach for your event, you need to coordinate a time and location with the Mayor's Office. You can call them at 410.289.8931 to do this. There is no fee. There is more information here. If you are planning on doing this between Memorial Day and Labor Day on the beach, then you will likely need to do it before 9am or after 5pm, when the beach is much less crowded. In addition to the beach, OC's Parks, particularly Northside Park (on their pier) and  Sunset Park are also great locations fo renewing your vows. If you want to use a park, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 410.250.0125 to coordinate your event and find out more.

If you want something more elaborate, I'd suggest working with one of OC's wedding planning companies. They can offer you anything from just an officiant for the event to a full blown package. Here are some places that do planning and that can provide someone to officiate at your renewal:

Ocean City Wedding Pastor 410.603.9918

Beach Weddings by Rox 866.472.3012

Several Hotels also sponsor wedding packages and can help you plan your renewal of vows.  Two in particular, with links to their wedding info, are:

Princess Royal

Castle in the Sand

I suggest staying someplace near where you will have the event and that meets your group's needs. For a list of places we regularly recommend, take a look here.

To get married in OC you need to apply for a Worcester County marriage license. The fee is $35. Call the Worcester County Clerk of Court Office at 410.632.5500 to find out more and look here for more information. If you are renewing vows it is not a legal ceremony, there are no city, county, or state fees, and anyone can officiate.

Hope you have a great event!

Unfortunately the beach buses are not equipped with bike racks. Safety concerns with taking the bikes on/off and the limited number of people who would use the service drove the decision to not install the racks. Sorry.

Yes, there is a municipal lot at 100t St for trailer parkig. It si $10 per pay or $50 per week. Payment is made at a kiosk, a ticket issued and it should be displayed on the the hitch. There are usually clear plastic bags at the kiosk to keep the ticket dry, but you might bring a small bag and tape just in case.

Another option, and one that we use for our trailer, is Racetrack Marine and Auto in West O. It is convenient to the county ramp the commercial harbor. Rates are very reasonable.
