I believe all the rental places are closed for the season.  You can fish from the two rental piers, the pier by second street and the pier off Northside Park for free, but you will need your own rod.  Fenwick Tackle is open on Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island.  They also sell rods and reels for $20.

The best place to start looking is the OCOCean Accommodations page.

If you want a house or condo, rental agencies in OC and lots of different properties at a wide range of price points to meet you need. I generally suggest starting by looking at the web listings an then contacting an agent to finalize your rental and seeing if you can find out more about the properties you are considering.

Two realtors I have used and that I routinely recommend are:

    Coldwell Banker:  800.633.1000

    Shoreline Properties: 800.492.5832

If you think you prefer a hotel, here are a few oceanfront options.

The Dunes Manor is just north of the boardwalk at 28th street. All rooms are oceanfront with balconies. Any easy walk to the north end of the boardwalk. They have an indoor/outdoor pool. This is one of my favorite properties in OC, and the place I always recommend if I am only recommending one place. My family stays there often.

The Holiday Inn & Suites at 17th Street is a very nice oceanfront place directly on the boardwalk with great pools, lots of amenities, and rooms with balconies.

Holiday Inn Ocean Front (67th Street) is a great ocean front property with a large outdoor pool, tennis, indoor pool, game room, and lots of other amenities. My family as stayed there many times.

The Castle In the Sand at 37th street is a great midtown location. The hotel is ocean front; they have several buildings and all types of rooms. They have lots of amenities including volleyball and an outdoor pool.

The Comfort Inn Boardwalk  is oceanfront on the boardwalk at 5th Street. It is closer to the south end of the boardwalk where there is tons of action, but far enough north to be not too noisy at night. They have and indoor and outdoor pool. My son stayed there a last summer said it was great. It will be a little less expensive than the options listed above.

Sahara at 19th Street on the boardwalk with ocean block buildings too. A basic motel that will be clean, but will not have lots of amenities. It is likely the least expensive place on this list. They have and outdoor pool.

For more hotel/motel recommendations, take a look at this thread for more ideas.

Have a great time in OC next May!

When does everything open on the boardwalk? Thanks!

The rides  don't open 7 days a week until Memorial Day weekend, but they will open on weekends around the middle of May.  You'll find some of the games open on weekends depending upon the weather, and the arcades are usually open now most days, especially on weekends. As for shops and restaurants, you can count of 90% of them being open by the first weekend of May, and all will likely  be open by the middle of May full time.

Hi Insiders, I am looking for a reasonable priced place to stay and information on events. We would like to plan a little family trip down it's our first time!

There are lots of rental reality agencies in OC and hundreds of properties at a wide range of types and price points. I'd start by looking at the OCOcean accommodations page for rentals and then contact some realtors. I generally suggest starting by looking at the web listings an then contacting an agent to finalize your rental and seeing if you can find out more about the properties you are considering.

If you are okay with takeout crabs, I recommend Crabs-to-Go in West OC at the northeast corner of Route 50 and Racetrack Road (Route 589). They get their crabs form the Gulf of Mexico at this time of year (like everyone else in OC), but I have consistently gotten excellent crabs from them year round.

If you want eat-in crabs, try the Crab Bag at 131st Street. They are also consistently very good.

Hi! What are the signature alcoholic beverages in ocean city? Is there any place that has huge attraction alcoholic beverages? Thanks!

Deion, a few places have their signature drink. I'm guessing that's what your asking about.

Places like Harborside Bar and Grill, the creator of original "Orange Crush".

Seacrets and their famous "Dirty Banana" drink.

Pickles Pub has the "Pickle Shots".

Crabcake Factory and famous "Crab Bloody Mary"

Try any of these and you'll be happy.

Yes, you can setup a cabana. Its use is technically at the discretion of the lifeguards, but I have not seen any issues with these types of items. Generally you are fine as long as you setup west of the line of lifeguards (in line or behind the umbrellas). No umbrellas or similar are allowed directly between or east of the lifeguard stands to avoid blocking their view of the water and one another. If your cabana is fully enclosed you are not allowed to change clothes in it. You also cannot use it to sleep overnight on the beach.

Hello! I rent out my condo to OCMD visitors. Is there a way I can advertise on your website? Thank you!

Contact the Ocean City Department of Tourism (or by phone at 410.289.2800) to see what you need to do to get added to the OCOcean Rental Accommodations page (there is a fee).

Hi! I am staying on 63rd Street and have never staying in OCMD before so I have some questions: 1. Are there buses that run from the Boardwalk to 63rd Street? 2. What hours do the buses operate? 3. If I were to drive to the Boardwalk, is there free parking around the beach? 4. Do you have any recommendations for things to do near 63rd Street? Thanks in advance.

Yes the bus run 24/7 during the summer and it's only $3 for an all day pass. It runs from west OC to the Delaware line so yes it will cover 63rd st.

From 63rd st to the main part of the boardwalk is about a 15 minute drive depending on traffic. It's pay parking down by the boardwalk. Normal free street parking along bay side doesn't start till around 3/4 st.

Your on 63rd so your near some good nightlife entertainment like Dead Freddies and Fagers.
