Dogs are only allowed on the beach and boardwalk between October 1 and April 30. Any handler or owner of a dog must remove any waste deposited on public or private property not owned by the handler or owner in possession of said dog. Also, dogs must be kept on a leash when being walked in and around Ocean City.

During peak-season and year-round, a Dog Playground is available at 94th Street and bayside so your pet can let loose and enjoy their time in Ocean City. For more information, contact OC Recreation & Parks at 410-250-0125 or view the following webpage //oceancitymd.gov/oc/departments/recreation-parks/dog-playground/.

Several restaurants allow dogs as well - check out http://www.bringfido.com for a current list. OC is very dog friendly and there are parks everywhere, plus free doggie "waste bags" in most locations.

There are lots of government issued rules and regulations related to dogs, and each property has its own rules too. Here are some of the more important ones:

Dogs are not allowed on the OC beach or boardwalk or beach anytime from 1 May to 30 September. Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach and boardwalk from 1 October to 30 April.

Leashed dogs are allowed on other OC Streets and in OC's parks, including Northside Park at 127th Street.

There is a dog park at 94th Street that you can access for a fee. Dogs using that park must have current vaccinations.

Dogs are not allowed on city buses or the boardwalk tram.

Most rental condo properties do not allow renters to have dogs, but do allow owners to have them.

ADA-approved service dogs are obviously an exception to most of these restrictions.

Hi.  Dogs are NOT allowed on either the beach or the boardwalk between May 1 and October 1, even if they are carried, on a leash, or in a stroller.  No exceptions.  But otherwise, they are allowed on sidewalks and certain outdoor restaurants, and there is a dog park for  your pup on 94th St.
