Not officially. They normally close the same day that the life guards stop protecting the beach, which this year was September 24th.  There are still some blue boxes on the beach though and there are signs with phone numbers on them.  Maybe you can call the number and they would be willing to send someone there to rent some to you.

But please stay out of the ocean now since there are no lifeguards on duty any more.

No, the rental boxes will all be off the beach by now. However, you can still rent equipment from PMI Rentals at 126th Street. However, will need to take it to and from the beach yourself and do your own setup.

You can also find great deals on umbrellas and chairs to purchase at Sunsations.  They are still open and have them in stock.  They had chairs for $5 last week.

Hey Bill, as Darlene mentioned that the blue boxes have pretty much gone down for the season now. The lifeguards are no longer on duty so there really isn't a necessity to bring them out. However Roses on 94th or Walmart in West OC may still have left over from the summer to buy. Usually they're pretty cheap this time of year.
