I agree with Darlene and Karl.  The last week in August through the end of September is beautiful.  The crowds have dropped off, but the town still feels alive.  The beach is warm and the water is at its warmest of the year.  May is like this as well, but with cooler temps.

My absolute favorite week of the year is the week leading up to Labor Day. Everything is open, the water is the warmest, and it's not nearly as crowded because many people have children that are in school then.  I hope that helps you.

The best time is from the day after Labor Day through the next two weeks - although anytime in September is great. In September the beach and water are still warm, the life guards are still on duty, almost all places are open, and the crowds and prices are down!

If you need tome come before kids go back to school, mid to late August is best.

For me I would visit Ocean City once a month if I could. I enjoy all the season in OC. The peak season when it is the most busiest is July to the end of August. To answer your question I would suggest mid May to the end of June as a good time to visit.

In saying that my week's vacation is during the middle of July and I stay at the northern end of Ocean City. I enjoy this area a lot and I never feel it's too crowed then.
